BIG NEWS from your friends at Blind River Bar!
Today we got hit with a little surprise — a cease & desist from our ol' pal Kathy across the lake at Prop Stop
Turns out, we can’t use the name “W**m Bucket” anymore because she trademarked it back in April
BUT LET’S BE REAL — since 1983 we’ve been serving up legendary drinks to folks from ALL over the world. And in the early 2000s, we gave our drink a bold new twist and created the one-and-only MUD BUCKET
Made with Premium Malibu Black (35% alcohol!) vs. regular bottom shelf Don Q Rum (21% in the PS W**m Buckets)… because y’all deserved a little extra kick
And now, we’re turning this situation into something AMAZING
From now through the end of summer, we’re donating $1 from EVERY Mud Bucket sold to the Dreams Come True Foundation, helping make dreams come true for incredible kids
And guess what? At the end of the summer, the owners of Blind River Bar will MATCH the total raised!
We’re only 7 weekends in and we’ve already sold 2,025 Mud Buckets… which means we’re on track to donate $5,050 so far!!!
So come grab your Almost World Famous MUD BUCKET ???? and know that you’re drinking for a purpose!
Let’s make this the most legendary summer EVER!

Yep, It's from BRB Facebook page and apparently the dude loves emojis so that is why it looks so fricked up
No idea how to copy it with all of that shite on there and I'm not taking the time to screenshot it and link it.

I ain’t no IP lawyer, but I thought if you were using it and it already has secondary recognition, they can’t stop you just because they register it.

So were they both selling worm buckets?
Well…she did the legal work so good for her.
Personally I always thought they should’ve been called the shite bucket.

Too bad you can’t trademark drunk, trashy but slightly attractive women making bad life decisions.

Meh…that’s maybe a bit of a stretch. I guess the occasional outlier.

Correct. They wasted ink and paper on that stupid letter.

How can you copyright a drink that’s common lexicon? A Tom Collins is a Tom Collins. A screwdriver is a screwdriver.

DC is a good dude and should respond with a big middle finger.
That crackhead lady is a disaster.

Was expecting a Tyger Woods Insta thread. I’m disappointed.

if you are going to start a river trash bar thread, including pictures are pretty much your only job

Do they have a tattoo parlor on staff?

This past Saturday at the Prop Stop was a great time.
Good crowd, excellent people watching, nice live music, balloon tosses and some mighty fine boats tied up… except for the idiots that think it’s okay to tie up sideways.
The facilities have had a lot of good work put in as well.

I can only imagine the amount of unplanned pregnancies the prop stop has given us.

How do you know this? Isn’t that an issue that would be litigated?
I understand sending out cease and desist letters to protect a trademark. My question here is whether the trademark is all that valuable to begin with.

That just one side benefit. Correlation does not imply causation, though.
