I don't always form opinions based on one guy who could possibly be a massive outlier, but when I do I make sure it's funny.

That was basically my point, I just threw in some anecdotal story about a friend.

2k calories plus that weak arse kettlebell workout isn't going to result in bulk.

Some guys have to eat insane amounts of calories to put on weight.

I was a difficult gainer in my 20s, but I could gain with about 3k calories. I was never very strong so that hurt me. I was in the "moderate weight, moderate reps" mindset back then. I finally gained a lot of ground when I lifted heavier - 5 rep max type sets.

Everyone has to adjust for their own situation, whether it be genetics, body type and - more importantly, everyone needs to be content with their results if they're doing the best they can - why? Because genetics and body type can't be "trained away". It can be optimized, which should be everyone's goal who exercises for aesthetics.

I just did about a month ago, actually. My thyroid function was a little low, but everything else is right where it needs to be. I started taking synthroid to help with the thyroid, but the function isn't so low that it causes me to be fat. That's entirely my own fault for eating way too much and drinking way too much.

You keep cracking jokes about Gary Taubes, but I haven't been on a low carb diet for months and follow a IIFYM style diet now at at 40/30/30 macro split.
