An astounding number of young people today can't even get around in their own town without gps.
I have a high school age niece (no pics) who could not direct me, with her in the car, from our VRBO rental to her house in a medium-size town where she had lived for years. Totally clueless. I had been to her house once a few years before and managed to get within a couple blocks of it before she finally knew where she was.
She recognized restaurants and other landmarks around town as we passed them, but she had not idea how to get from there to her house.

Using a rotary phone
Doing stupid shite cause no cell phone videos
AOL dial up
Using the dewey decimal system (not sure spelling)
2 party line home phones
Using a compass
Using an atlas or road map
Camping out and having to rough it
Car bag phones. Better reception than today’s cell phones. My mom still has hers at the house

No cell phones. I’d give them up in a heartbeat.

Simply dialing the 4 digit number of someone you wanted to call locally. No prefix needed.

Calling the radio station in junior high on a Friday or Saturday night and dedicating a song to your girlfriend.

Trying to get someone’s phone number by talking/yelling “What..is..your..number..” on the “hotline” (the pause in the busy signal where you could faintly hear other people on the line).

Driving a stick shift.
Eagerly awaiting the morning paper for sports scores and looking to see what movies are playing.
Getting up off the couch to turn a dial on the TV and adjusting the rabbit ears.
Playing whiffle ball in the street, stopping the game everytime a car passes by.
