My friend's girlfriend went to Ben Franklin. She is probably an OT-7 or 8 and has a good, easygoing personality. So there's at least one.

one of the hottest girls I've seen in my life went to Ben Franklin. Surely someone else here knows who I'm talking about. I think she's an attorney now.

Country Day is nice, but it's like $20k a year. Newman is similar in price.

I think Newman is even more these days. Of course, both offer financial aid (dependent on 'circumstances')

If you send your son to an all boys catholic high school there is a good chance he gets the ghey.

Newman > Country Day

I'm friends with a good number of them, but some odd birds come out of CD.

From what I understand, Newman places almost as well as top private schools in NYC (not quite, but pretty damn close). I can see 20K being charged for those types of results, but MCDS seems very overpriced.

ETA: If the top private schools in BR are shooting for 15K, that's also kind of nuts.

The Catholic League schools are all $7-$8k

yea, that's an exaggeration. They have a good amount of kids go to Vandy/UVA schools every year, and several Ivy league kids. They also send a ton of kids to SEC schools. CD is the same way, but has half as many students. A little more emphasis on the SEC schools.

thanks or the replies guys.

we're in lakeview.

we went to the open house at country day and it was amazing. the little kids there were some of the best well mannered kids i've ever met.

but you're right, the tuition there starts at 7k for pre-k and k and goes up to about 18k from 1-12. and you're right, that could easily be a mortgage or car payment.

i would rather our girl or boy go to a co-ed school. nothing against all girl or all boy schools, i'm just not into it.

my wife says the same thing, she graduated with girls that she had no idea who there were...that blows my mind. i, however, sadly, could probably give a good guess to what everyone in my graduating class is doing today. partly because of a tight knit class and facebook.

I would send them to St. Paul's (due to proximity) or something for elementary school and then switch over to a private/catholic school of your choice for high school.

Yea a lot of people know her

Honestly, you have to look at income. Don't break your bank to send a kid to Newman/Country Day unless you are making some serious money. My question is why are you looking now if the kid isn't even born?
