The principal of a New Jersey high school has apologized for what he called "insensitive" language on tickets for the upcoming senior prom.

The Courier Post reported the Cherry Hill High School East senior prom tickets urged students to "party like it's 1776" during the event at Philadelphia's National Constitution Center.

"It was insensitive and irresponsible not to appreciate that not all communities can celebrate what life was like in 1776," Perry said.

He said he especially wanted to apologize to black students "who I have let down by not initially recognizing the inappropriateness of this wording."

You have to try so hard to actually have your feelings hurt by that.

One of these days, someone is going to get put in a position like this and when asked if they have a statement they'll finally just tell everyone to frick off and stop being so butthurt.

Complaining is pretty universal. Being blind to it helps no one.

I don't understand it. Someone says something that a few people are offended by and instead of them saying "When I decided to say or write what I said, I was thinking about it in these terms (describing the terms). By no means was I trying to offend anyone" and that's it. Why apologize?

If my intentions were not at all to insult someone then I am not going to apologize because some people took it a different way. And what gets me are the people who are like "I want him/her to apologize for this". And usually, if it is something that is a story in the news, there will be an apology, but would you rather someone give you an apology they are not sincere about or them giving their explanation of why they did it and if they can't understand then that is their problem.

So I guess the 76’ers are the new Redskins and Chief Wahoo.

Amazing how some many people are so quick to use the race card and how so many others tremble when it’s used against them.
