You're missing the point, I think. Because after 1865, and particularly after 1877 (after Reconstruction), there was Jim Crow - and then the Civil Rights movement, and even today there is 400+ years of this history plus #WhitePrivilege.
So, anything, at all, that is deemed traditional American values can be attacked with a simple use of the word, "Racist." It would be laughable if it wasn't so sad.
