Oh and the Ancient inhabitants of "Spain" and the Iberian Penisula were a tribe that migrated over time from what is now Iran and were there for a long time, until invading tribes forced them to hop across the English Channel and settle on an Island called Ireland... so the Celts were the first civilization in Spain they've found evidence of, and they are originally Persian in origin.
All of this stuff is pretty fascinating
Yep.. People focus so much on skin color they miss out on how much of a genetic gumbo each of us are individually.

The bigger story is that most Americans are under a misconception that Spain is populated by darker people. There are a ton of lily-white Spaniards.

In 1984, my then wife and I drove from Giessen through Switzerland down to the Italian Riveria and headed west from there...I was shocked by a several things in Spain:
Felt like I was back in Korea with the Guardia Civil stations with broken glass atop the fences surrounding them.
That roads on the seafront in places weren't paved.
Very few places outside of hotels would take a credit card.
AND the largest to me, was that the people looked like standard white Europeans.
Finally, when we crossed the border back into France at Biarritz, I felt like we left the 1950's and were back in the mid 1980's.
One other comment about Princess Leonor, she's probably headed to the US to finish college/graduate school. Her parents have Louisiana connections and I think it'd be a hoot to have her at LSU.
If you notice walking around the Quarter, there are Spanish tile street signs telling you what the street was called when NOLA was the capital of Spanish Louisiana.

(given names: Andreas Michael Friedrich Hans Armin Siegfried Hubertus; born 21 March 1943) has been the head of the House of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha since 1998. He is the grandson of Charles Edward, Duke of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, the last ruling duke. He is styled as His Highness.
EARLY LIFE
?
I was born 21 March 1943 at Schloss Casel in Lower Lusatia, Germany to Friedrich Josias, Prince of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha and Princess Viktoria Luise of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha . After their divorce in 1946, I was left in the custody of my mother, who moved to her family home “Steinwaendt” in Austria. It was there that she met and married her second husband, Captain Richard Whitten, who was serving in the American army in Salzburg, Austria.
In 1949, the army transferred our new family to the United States, where I spent most of my childhood and teenage life. On 6 March 1954, at the age of 12, my father became head of the house and I became heir apparent to the headship of the ducal house. When I was 16 I began to make regular visits to Germany in preparation for my future role as head of the Ducal House Saxe-Coburg and Gotha. It was during these visits that I was introduced to the old hunting traditions that became my lifelong passion.
In the early 1960s, I attended Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where I studied Business Administration. I was one of the founding members of the Delta Tau Delta Fraternity Chapter at the university.

Jim, I learned something new today thanks to you. Does he ever come back to BR that you know of? As big a hunter as he is, one would think that he knows Richard Lipsey well.

IDK if he was involved with LSU but I imagine he did come back to Louisiana. His mother settled in New Orleans and was big in the Junior League until her passing in the early 2000s.
