Priest With 'Satanic Interests' and Child Porn Sentenced

All of these stories are disturbing, but this one raises it a notch. How does a person with such a depraved soul ever get into a position of spiritual prominence like this? Surely some of his personality traits would have been exposed before this?

The priest, according to detectives as reported in the Idaho Statesman, had more than 2,000 files of pornography -- many depicting children in sexual or exploitative acts -- and was, through emails and online chats, "'actively seeking interests with gay men, satanic interests,' and the rape and killing of minors."

All of these stories are disturbing, but this one raises it a notch. How does a person with such a depraved soul ever get into a position of spiritual prominence like this? Surely some of his personality traits would have been exposed before this?

Sort of like doctors/nurses that kill patients? Or attractive, young teachers that frick teen boys? Plenty of depraved souls out there. They just need the opportunity to act.

I’ll say this. Getting enjoyment or even curiosity out of watching people burn is about as sick as it gets.

Scooba says we shouldn’t hold priests to a higher standard than other people. But we absolutely should. shite like this should never happen with someone who is supposed to be a moral guide, a community leader, and a trusted advocate

Agreed, because ultimately, it brings reproach on the name of Christ and Christianity as a whole because of deeds like this.

So horrific but these sick freaks are everywhere. Read the book AA-1025 satanist/communists' planned to infiltrate the catholic church and all over society.
It looks like they removed the crucifix and kneelers and holy water; like a lot of catholic churches because because people complained they were offended.

So they followed what a lot of Protestant megachurches are doing: remove anything that remotely looks Christian (no crosses, no Nativity scenes at Christmas -- but lots of Christmas trees) so as to not "offend" potential future tithers -- oops I meant future believers.

I doubt he was always like that.... when he started, I'm guessing he was pumped and wanted to make a difference...?
He allowed himself to become disenchanted, lost faith.... allowed himself to fall from grace. Without grace, we have nothing to lean on but ourselves.

And these are the things that happen that are going to but a bad name on Christianity. Everyone is going to blame Christianity even though these are Catholics
