is a waste of time that will be struck down by SC after wasting more time and money getting there while we are at 23T in debt,

You have no way of knowing what the SCOTUS will decide. If you’re so worried about the debt- and I applaud your concern- there are numerous other things to complain about (think impeachment farce as the most current waste of money )that we can address.
You’re on the wrong Footing here. Like complaining about the $7.00 environmental fee on the $3000.00 auto repair bill for changing a belt.

Yay!

More laws! More government!

More ways for prosecutors to ignore the spirit of the law and ensnare good people!

Yeah. You don't get it. This is always the excuse. Save the children. Problem is, when do you repeal laws? Do you just layer on more and more until you're not allowed to do anything anymore without violating some law, somewhere?

There's a role for the federal government. This ain't it, podna.

It is like the proverbial silk thread, I can place one on your back and you will never even notice it yet if I continue to do so I can break your back with them.

This is a state issue

Was crushing animals really a big problem especially dead ones?

How many here are aware that most euthanized animals end up in landfills? Guess what the compactor driver is now a federal felon.

You can’t regulate crushing. You can regulate sharing videos on the internet, and crushing with a car. However, if someone wanted to jump on a mouse, can’t make that a federal crime.

That fact that you need to even consider doing it, much less actually do it, is kinda sad. Who would EVER think that crushing an animal was something that was OK to do? It's absolutely disgusting.

How is this law not unconstitutional under the 10th Amendment?

There's no compelling interstate commerce issue that I can think of

Can anyone explain?

It is and we will spend millions defending it prior to it being struck down wasting numerous courts time, but yay feelings.

So if you see a small animal get hit by a car and it’s flopping around suffering, finishing it off should be a felony?

This law seems poorly thought out

That's not what they are addressing, but you know this already.

What does selling BBQ in Alabama have to do with interstate commerce?

I can't.

Every new law will be tested and molded through our judicial system. It sucks for the people that have to go through the judicial system to define the limits of the law but this is just the way our system works. And it can take decades to flesh out those limits. But in the meantime if you don't want to be the test case at the federal level I would suggest, avoid crushing puppies.

My point is that laws, however good natured and well intended, can often be abused and misused.

Pointless, feel good legislation that further eroded states’ rights. I’m not looking forward to the pendulum swing under the next Democratic regime.
