Earlier today President Trump signed H.R. 724, the “Preventing Animal Cruelty and Torture (PACT) Act,” which makes it a Federal crime to engage in animal crushing. Quite remarkably this law is the first ever federal anti-cruelty statute to protect animals in U.S. history.

Enables feds to pursue charges on cross state lines like posting animal cruelty videos on social media and big dog fight orgs.
Makes things a lot easier to prosecute supposedly.

So I guess animal crushing was a problem in states that didn’t make animal cruelty a crime.
Otherwise, I can’t imagine why small-government states-rights folks would support expanding the reach of the federal government into an area traditionally policed by the states.
They should be repealing laws, not passing more.

Your TDS is showing. The only reason you’re spouting libertarian talking Points about federal laws is because you dislike the guy making them. If it was BO or any other dem you’d allow it.

It is a waste of time that will be struck down by SC after wasting more time and money getting there while we are at 23T in debt, go go Government, keep fixing the big things.

Can't believe we didn't have a law like this previously.

The legislation expands on a 2010 law that targeted videos depicting the crushing or torturing of animals, but that did not prohibit the underlying conduct. Under the new law, the underlying acts of cruelty would be a federal crime.
