I just switched providers and went from $318 for two vehicles to $170. Same coverages. I do have homeowners as well with the new company though.

Buttigieg wants everyone riding buses or driving tiny EV ecoboxes. Gas prices soaring and insurance rates rising is a win for these folks.

Expect toll roads to be added and existing tolls to go up. Inspection and registration fees too.

You can thank your local ambulance chaser and his partnered physicians.
Along with our politicians and uneducated community.
And expensive parts, and distracted driving.

I'm not trying to defend anyone, but auto insurance in LA was fricked before Joe. My company won't even write a policy in the state any more.

Fake news, Louisiana torts have been reformed. Car insurance rates were guaranteed to go down
That you are still upset about this is continued evidence that that legislation was an improvement on the past situation.

The entire home, auto and flood insurance platform is on the brink of collapse in this state

La. DOI needed to be more proactive with legislation especially in homeowners insurance for hurricanes but instead he is allowing the attorneys burn it all to the ground.

Carriers have some blame but it is an impossible unsustainable task for them with the major storms Laura, Delta, Zeta, Ida.

This is exactly what is happening. Many of the "republicans" in the legislature are plaintiff attorneys who run on pro-business platforms except when it comes to their wallets. The result is insurers dropping out of the state and those that are left exist only via skyrocketing premiums. It is going to be nearly impossible to obtain homeowners insurance south of Alexandria in the near future. Those who can will move out of the state, but the many who stay will be unable or unwilling to absorb the increased premium cost so they will sit uninsured and rely on the feds to bail them out every time a storm comes. This will also translate into the mortgage and real estate markets as the cost of insurance will preclude home purchases and financing. Until the legislature brings the insurance market in line with other state, the situation will continue to deteriorate to the benefit of one and only one group.

Every time that you see a tv ad or billboard advertising an injury attorney, and everything involved in it, remember that your premiums are paying for it all.

After not long ago getting my homeowner renewal letter (20% increase, no claims), I find out today my car insurance is going up 15%.

Wait, weren’t we assured if tort reform passed rates would not go up. Apparently that was just a scam to line pocketbooks of insurers. There’s a shock. If they are going to raise rates like this then the legislature should just repeal it.

Wow that's simple. How long has the new law been in effect? You notice anything like inflation that might drive up costs?

Biden doesn't regulate car insurance.

So the premium savings were supposed to be instant? Or do the new suits filed after the law took effect (Jan 2021) have to play out in court for the ramifications and results to be realized?

Nope. It was supposed to be instant or the slip and fall guys were correct.
