Wawa was one of those early covidian adopters calling for lockdowns and spouting off Italy’s numbers as if anything like that would happen here. When it come to Covid, he was a hysterical Karen from day 1. Kinda funny he’s in here calling other people dramatic

I mean, the videos of that thing alone it just kept looking bigger and more menacing as it went along

Tornadoes are weird. You can’t always judge strength by size. They’re rated by damage. And those pictures confirm the damage.

From a tornado? Is this a serious question?

While you're not going to "evacuate" in the traditional sense, Outlooks and Watches on days like this serve the purpose of allowing people in bad situations to prepare and implement a plan. It gets people out of mobile homes, off of the road, and paying attention.

If people take these days seriously, deaths can be avoided (in all but the most extreme cases).

Two things I've learned about the weather. Hope is not a plan, and you never, ever speak in definites.

Very true. It never fails that every big tornado caught on video gets the Violent tag thrown on it immediately. The same can be said in many cases with radar and CC. We're just not there yet in regards to making those statements with any accuracy.

The cell that produced the NOLA tornado passed about 5 miles or so to my north around Larose at around 6:45. At my location, we had some gusty winds and decent rain at the time but nothing unusual. The storm really ramped up over the Lake Des Allemands area before reaching the Westbank.

ETA - I went back earlier in radar loops and the beginning signs of rotation first showed up on radar near Cocodrie at ~6:15 PM

Another thing I have noticed about Radar Omega is that its Correlation Coefficient is a good bit less noisy than RadarScope's. I'm not sure why that is.

Did you check CC to see the first sign of a TDS?

They dropped the warning in AL. Still some broad rotation, but not significant.

And just like that....a new warning North of the old one in Alabaster. And it looks worrisome.
