Nasty line just getting into the Lake Charles Area. No warnings (Tornado or Severe Thunderstorm) currently posted. Hope it continues.

Hows the NOLA one?
I've been impressed with NOLA over the past couple hurricane seasons. They don't get a go at true severe weather event often, though.

How we looking? I haven't been able to look at anything this morning.
Generally on track from last night with some extra risk sneaking into western Alabama.
ETA: The discussions from the NOLA office have been straight fiya for days. @ulmwxr (Christopher Bannan) has been pumping out elite level discussions on the overnight and whoever is doing the afternoons have been very strong too.

Everyone from the OT accounted for from last night?

I wonder how this is going to affect flights out of MSY this evening and tomorrow morning?

That's a nasty bit of line up South of Greenville right now.

Lake Charles
I'm downtown and it's been quiet. Good amount of rainfall, so I'm sure the streets will be flooded.

Haven't really paid much attention, but they have a First alert weather day here. Any chance it gets rough around NE Alabama?
As a general idea the further north and east you are in Alabama the better you’re positioned for this event. Of course you can’t completely rule things out but the parameters just aren’t there for much in the way of tornadic activity in that region(NE Alabama). Flash flooding and some straight line winds are probably your biggest concern as the line rolls through tonight.

Decent looking cell coming up 59 right at Hattiesburg

Kind of getting a little worried for her, because she’s not giving it the attention it needs. She doesn’t understand how much of a hotspot that is for tornados. Do they have sirens and stuff in Hattiesburg? If she’s asleep during this thing, that could be the only thing that would wake her up.
She’ll learn quick.
Can’t live in central MS or AL and not pay attention to weather.
Only takes one close one or it impacting friends or family and you get it.

That's usually how it works. My sister is the same way. It took a close call for her to start paying attention.

Another cool feature of Radar Omega is the lightning detection. You can set from 1, 5, 15, or 30 minute intervals and animate the lighting.

I think New Orleans is the best one in the state. People forget Lake Charles exists.

Do you have to upgrade to get additional features like lightning and watches?

No. Upgrade is similar to RadarScope in that it gets you dual pane, but Omega has a similar drawing feature that carries over from screen to screen. Upgrade does get you 3D radar, though.
All the lightning stuff is on the base version.
ETA: Be warned, though, it is a battery hog. Definitely not the one to rely on in the field or without power.

Action Jackson with that .3 radar tilt.
Nabbed a radar tornado west of Tallulah. Probably used the ULM S-band for that. Jackson uses our radar for stuff west of Tallulah.

I figured it was. Tornado warning in Tallulah now, too.
