I understand what you are getting at in that you don't feel any of the wars or conflicts past WWII were in the interest of serving our country. I wasn't real skippy about going to Panama or Iraq but mine was not to reason why.

That said you couldn't be more wrong. Even if what you imply is true you are taking away all the deterrent effect the US military has had over the last 75 years. TR's big stick is indeed useful on occasion.
