I’ve heard nothing from Entergy concerning a timeline for power restoration. Their app is no help.

Timelines are coming this afternoon.

They have 6,000 linemen in Louisiana. Do people expect an entire power grid to be assessed for damage and back online just hours after a hurricane?

I overheard some Entergy guys talking this morning and it didn't make since at the time. They were saying something like "frick hedgehog. He aint getting his power back until midnight."

These people didn’t come from out of town to fix it quick and get out
They want their storm hazard pay and overtime that entergy will gladly pass on to the customers

Since we're being redundant and all, and few of us work for Entergy, I'll just repost

I was married into a family where most of the men were Gulf States lineman and gas workers.
I can promise you, they'd all rather be back home with their wives and family.
I can't tell you how many kids birthdays, Thanksgiving dinners and Christmas dinners were cut short because half the table was "on call" for the holiday.

Anyone know who to contact to get a large tree removed that fell over last night? It’s for an elderly friend that doesn’t have the financial means to pay for removal. It’s over 60’ and blocking her driveway in Gonzales.

I can confirm this. I thought it odd they singled Hedgehog out but figured they had their reasons.

I was thinking that “sense” power was on a few streets over that it would be a relative easy fix to get us up and running.

i'm thinking we will likely have one more night without power, but by Friday, we should be up and running... at least, I'd hope so

DEMCO is even less informative. With as many homes in EBR and ASCENSION out of power you have to wonder is it a major line down or just multiples of isolated outages that need to get restored? Asking for an update is not out of line. Expecting restoration today would be a bit much, but they have to have a general idea by now.

A lot of the surrounding towns going more NE have power back already too and they got the worse of it... wonder what is down causing this?

Both streets on the side of me have power. And then it’s random in the back of my hood, some streets have it some don’t. It’s weird.

AP Public Works phone # Phone: 225-450-1200

They got one out of our neighborhood the next day, but that's bc it was on a powerline.

You could also contact the local church.
During Gustav, there was a Baptist church group from Arkansas that removed a large tree from my driveway free of charge.
The group was made up of a bunch of retired tree guys and linemen.
Just make sure you donate a bit to their church whenever possible.
