r you have to wonder is it a major line down or just multiples of isolated outages that need to get restored?

Its always both. Hopefully not transmission. But they will work on that first, typically, unless it can be isolated. Distribution lines are next but main line feeders. With that many out, there are multiple mainline feeders that are out. Then you have to do taps. Taps and single outages take the longest. If you are on the mainline, or your tap has no damage you, may be back on quicker.

It takes a lot of coordination when repairing or replacing electrical utility lines The lineman’s safety is the most important thing

It’s been 20 hours since our power went out and I’ve heard nothing from Entergy.

I knkw the slemco in Lafayette had some linemen here fro Florida helping f .. now that it’s all restored here, slemco and the Florida guys are headed somewhere east.

Hang in there. I promise you 100% that the linemen want you restored .. it means they can go home to their families.

If it makes you feel better, DEMCO sent me a text telling me that power was out at my address again this morning.

We’re at the Old Perkins/Bluff intersection and our power came back on about 20 minutes ago or so. They’re moving quick.

DEMCO is insulting with their updates. Obviously automatic texts that have no tie to reality.

Went a day earlier this year with a text every three hours that power should be restored in three hours. Finally just fired up the generator because I had zero idea when they actually would have it up.

Incorrect…. Trust me, they want to get it asap. My dad was a lineman, so is my brother.

Sleeping in motel 6 type hotels, or tents in some cases. Driving 1-2 hours each way in bucket trucks, away from family.

Yes the pay is good… but they aren’t trying to stay any longer.

But - the food is good from what I hear

They aren’t calling you man lol….

They fix lines that have more customers first, and so on… so if your in a “feed” that doesn’t have a lot of customers on it, your last.

Anyone know who to contact to get a large tree removed that fell over last night? It’s for an elderly friend that doesn’t have the financial means to pay for removal.

I know everyone loves to hate on Healing Place, but give them a call. They will be doing tree removal. They will have multiple teams out this weekend.
