If they don't have a loop then what's the point.

By the time this thing is built there will be Jetson like vehicles and we won't need roads much less bridges.

The shorter list of sites should be complete by fall 2022.

I hope it connects to the BR Loop

Louisiana needs to slide off into the Gulf first.
Depends on how much you want to slide off.
It is already happening. Some areas faster than others.
Hurricane Ida ripped up some of the the marsh around the south Lafourche area. It also moved some land around.
There is a canal that is now blocked because of this. If you travel Hwy 24 between Larose and Bourg, the canal by Bollinger is completely stopped up with marsh grass.

Definitely the part with all the politicians on it.

At the end of the day that bridge is going to go right beside the Laberge Casino. Watch.
I hope so, that's a great spot to cross. Close tie in spot to Hwy 30. if they ever expand hwy 30 all the way to I-10 at Gonzales on the eastside and connect Hwy 415 to LA 1 on the west side then you have you BR loop.

The fact they immediately eliminated a twin bridge next to the existing new bridge due to the river being "really wide there" is mind boggling. You know how I know you can build a bridge there? Because there is one there NOW.
Build the damn bridge next to the Wilkinson "new" Bridge and construct a limited access interstate spur thru the existing and already state owned green space of the Florida Blvd corridor to Airline and then to I-12.
As it would greatly benefit the new Amazon distribution center, you might be able to get them to chip on the cloverleaf infrastructure needed at the Florida/Airline interchange. You would also be avoiding additional urban sprawl of the area which has greatly increased flooding issues in the past 20 years.
The main reason for this location is that it is by far the least expensive of any of the proposed locations. You are comparing the construction of 10-12 miles of new infrastructure with very little domain issues in a a single parish compared to up to 40-50 miles of new infrastructure by locating it in Addis or points south that would involve up to three parishes, not to mention the logistics of crossing the Intracoastal with a second bridge.

Can you imagine the delays, grift, and corruption involved in project where an existing federal interstate (I-10) in one parish (WBR) connects to a new state highway built over private land with a new bridge crossing the Intracoastal, crossing into a second parish (Iberville) of private land, a second major bridge crossing the largest river in the US, connecting to an existing road in a third parish (EBR) that will need major infrastructure improvements and more imminent domain of private land that will then need to connect to a new highway as it crosses into a fourth (Ascension) and fifth (Livingston) different parish in order to connect to a different (I-12) federal interstate.
What could go wrong?

But just think of the 10's of vehicles that will go over the $409M Audubon bridge today.
