The police in Long Island are freaking awesome. My brother got into a bit of trouble there a few years back and got his car towed in addition to getting arrested
The cop was able to get in touch with the tow yard folks, verify through fax the owner of the car (us), get the car sprung.....all for free.
Secondly, literally anyone at Singapore Airlines. They are the best ever.

A few minutes later Amazon is telling her that they will be replacing everything that was stolen and she won't have to pay for them again.

I was fricking flabbergasted dude. I was planning on replacing everything she bought so she could have a great Christmas and because I love my kids. Amazon absolutely nailed it on this one. It also may be because my family spends about $20,000 a year on their website.

That’s unbelievable nice. Sometimes decency comes out..
Unfortunately, we don’t expect it very often..

Men’s Warehouse, several years ago.
Flew into Chicago for a conference where I was expected to give a presentation the following morning. Luggage gets lost.
Grab a cab and made it to the hotel late and I’m scrambling. Called the local store less than 15 minutes before they closed. Talk to salesperson about what happened. Got my measurements and an hour later he’s dropping off a full suit including shoes, belt, etc to the hotel. Spent nearly an hour making sure everything fit right.
Brought the suit back to the shop the following day after my presentation. Offered to buy them all, they took them all back free of charge.
I don’t wear suits any more; but, if I do need formal wear that’s where I’m going.

St. Jude's Children's Hospital
My son was a patient there 10 years ago. He's now cured and doing great
Anyway here's a snippet of how awesome they were
1. 1st day there the Dr sits with us for 4 hours, details out the next three years of our lives, explains the cancer in minute detail. Plays and falls in love with our son. She was incredibly empathetic and positive.
2. My son was 4 at the time and LOVED kiwi. STJ had a 24hr on demand cafeteria. At 3am, lil man called them and asked for smiley face pancakes with kiwi on the side. 15 minutes later they were delivered to him. He called the cafe for kiwi everyday. One time they ran out so the nurses sent a group text out to the next shift. Everyone coming into work that next shift brought Kiwi
3. No pain policy... Every procedure, every shot invloved some sort of anesthetic that would ensure the child did not feel pain
4. I gave STJ my insurance information on Day 1 and never saw a bill over the course of three years
5. Everyone from the shuttle drivers, janitors, and security guards to all of the medical staff were always bright, positive, and loving
I know it isn't fiscally positive to have an entire national health system like STJ but man it is difficult comparing of providers once you've experienced STJ.

That's not customer service. That is a smart business decision. It costs them more than the $7 to return that product so instead of losing money on your return, they let you keep it.
I know why they told me to keep it, but it can still be both a smart business decision and good customer service.

-American Express in general has great customer service. I called them when I was in Iceland and they set up reservations for me at restaurants and booked activities for us. Super helpful and easy to work with.
--I recently ordered some oxfords from Cobbler Union in Atlanta. Another pair that I wanted to order was out of stock but they had a link that offered a notification when the shoe became available. I clicked that link, entered my email address and went about my day. I got an email an hour later from someone at their headquarters. We exchanged a few emails and discussed dates and pre-orders. They set me up with a nearly identical pair that wasn't available online. There was nothing miraculous about it other than that I was impressed with how helpful and responsive they were.

She was on the radio the whole time trying to get them to hold the plane.
Similar experience at Houston's airport. Flying in from Phoenix and our gate was backed up. Had to wait to get off the plane. Finally made my way to my departure gate that I had only 15 minutes to make originally. After the delay, I was late.
The gate agent immediately gets on the radio trying to get someone to pick me up. Next thing I see is a bus hauling arse up to the gate. I jump in and he floors it. Calls the pilot to wait. Pilot says 3 minutes. Driver explained it would take a few more than that. Pilot says 3 minutes. Anyway as the plane began rolling this crazy driver pulls onto the tarmac in front of the plane so I could get on

As soon as I landed I sent and email to Houston to let them know of those two employs, even though I didn't catch their names. Received a response the next day that they found out who helped me and had thanked them and given a small token of appreciation.

That's crazy to hear because the Men's Warehouse in BR is terrible. Glad to hear they aren't all bad.

Scott and White Heart Hospital in Plano - even though Dad has his surgery and passed in the hospital, the service was top flight and professional at every level.

The hotel I usually book in San Diego became my mainstay because the first time I stayed there, they went above and beyond. My room wasn't ready when I arrived, so I went down the street and had a couple beers. When I came back, they were so apologetic about my room not being ready that they upgraded me to a large suite. They had room service later deliver me a bottle of wine and a cheese/fruit tray. Then they sent up a gift certificate to have dinner/drinks on their rooftop in a restaurant that actually was good/frequented by non-guests and not some hotel crap.
I thought it was such a nice way to make up for something that really wasn't a big inconvenience at all.
I say this all the time, but hotels can be the best customer service because they have so much power even at a low level. Booked Le Pavillon for RDR a few years back and the lobby was SLAMMED with people when I arrived. The doorman told me I'd only be able to check my luggage. No biggie. Went to the check-in desk to let them know I was checking my luggage and would be back later. They agreed and told me no rooms were ready yet. We ended up chatting about where we bought our outfits and whatnot and suddenly, "Oh look.. your room actually JUST became available".

My wife and I went to a conference in Indianapolis years ago. From the time we flew in every interaction we had in the city had the customer service of a Chick Fil a. Finally asked a waitress about it. The Super Bowl had been there a year or two before and there was still a residual effect of the training all the companies had done in preparation.

Went to Wendy's the other day, ordered 5 spicy nuggets and a small fry.
They gave me a 10 pc nugget meal, with an extra fry, and charged me for it.
I advised them that I only ordered a 5 pc, and small fry. They gave me the difference in cash, and gave me my 5 pc and small fry, but then also gave me the 10 pc meal with an extra fry. That's 15 nuggets, and three fries for like $2.50.

I ordered 5 175 gallon buckets of Red Sea Pro salt from Bulk Reef Supply at about $75 a pop. UPS cracked the shite out of one of them, so I called BRS up, and just asked if they could send a replacement for the one bucket and a call tag for me to return the busted one, they just told me they would take care of it. Two days later I received 5 more buckets, and was told not to worry about sending the one back.

in 2001 i bought a new boat from the factory in seattle. in 2004 i was doing some wiring on it and i ignited the gasoline fumes from the poly fuel tank under the deck, and blew out the transom splashwell
1) they sent a trailer to come pick it up
2) they trailered the boat back to seattle
3) they built me a new hull, and rigged my console, outboard, T-top and all accessories on to the new hull
4) they shipped the boat back to me and dropped it off in my driveway
total cost, zero american dollars

1.Transmission dies on Honda Accord at 56k miles while on family vacation in Disney World. Warranty expired. Cut trip short. $4k for repair, 1K to fly family home and fly myself back to pick up car a week later.
As a lifetime Accord driver who had taken 2 Accords to 200k miles I contacted Honda and told them my story. Transmission failure on an Accord at 55k miles not acceptable.
I asked to be reimbursed for repair and my associated costs.
With only 2 phone calls and submission of my original receipts I was approved for the full reimbursement, a little over 5k. Had the check in a week.
I was hoping to get a few hundred bucks.
2. Without asking, Disney upgraded my expired 8 day Park Hoppers, which had 4 useless days left because we cut trip short, to a non expiring ticket. Close to $700 value for this upgrade.
Love spreading these stories about Honda and Disney every chance I get.
