I gotta say, I love this. Proof that while the snowflakes are loud and get the media attention, the backlash from the majority is very, very real. Hoping that businesses and government take notice and start repudiating the loud minority.

The race-fueled protests at the University of Missouri took a huge bite out of enrollment, with the student population dropping 35 percent since the fall 2015. Local landlords are having so much trouble finding students to rent their off-campus housing that some are offering $1,000 gift cards or major rent reductions, the Devils Lake Journal reports.
A recent Columbia City Council report found that the vacancy rate has risen to almost 10 percent in Columbia—with rates spiking to nearly 13 percent outside a one-mile radius from campus.

The university, itself, has had to make housing adjustments with plummeting enrollment in mind. Since the fall 2015 protests, Mizzou has closed seven residence halls.

The freshman class is the smallest in nearly two decades, the Journal noted. The Devils Lake Journal also reported that Mizzou athletics had also seen its fans dwindle. “Attendance for football in 2016 was down almost 13,000 people per game from 2015,” the newspaper said, “and the men’s basketball team filled, on average, only 9,930 of Mizzou Arena’s 15,000 seats.”

No, no they didn't. And it had nothing to do with the protests.

To be fair, both of these teams were terrible.

Well this is definitely one way to get Mizzou out of the SEC.

I would celebrate but this is the whole point of leftist antagonization. Not to change the system, but to collapse and rebuild. They will NEVER take responsibility, just use the problems as examples of why the govt needs more money and more power.

With the housing issues, the landlords are going to start taking Section 8 and the culcha will move in giving the SJWs exactly what they want and deserve.... Crime and blight.

This is amazing. That is hard to imagine if it were Arkansas. Dozens and dozens of jobs lost.

I see enrollment there declining for another 2-3 years before they actually hit bottom at Mizzou.

Not sure why you would LOVE that standing up against racism leads to more systematic racism by bottoming out the economies of inner cities. We should be trying to help these people, not starve them to death.

is the plummet due to normal people choosing not to go because of snowflakes already there
or
is it due to snowflakes choosing not to go because it is not a safe space

Didn't think about that. It's gonna be glorious.

Just re-segregate. Let all blacks go the HBCUs while whites and everyone else go to the other institutions. Problem solved. Everyone can stop talking about it then.

Incredible.
Is this the scholastic equivalency of the SMU death penalty? Years and years to recover?

Oddly enough, nearly all the successful black entrepreneurs I know went to a HBCU.

Its due to parents not wanting their children exposed to an atmosphere that is considered unsafe and the widely held belief that students at Mizzou aren't as educated as those who attend other universities across the US.
