How does tearing down the statue of PGT Beauregard promote racial equality?
The statue was torn down because he was white and it was said multiple times it was because he was a racist confederate white supremecist despite the historical fact that he was a Civil rights advocate that was "disgraced" by other confederates because of his liberal views on black people

You couldn't be more incorrect. Yes, some people feel this way. However, most of us are genuinely concerned about a mayor that has overstepped his power in order to gain votes. If one single dollar of taxpayer money ever went to installing, protecting, or maintaining any one of those statues, there should have been a vote.

Supporters of the statue removal aren't interested in facts.

These bronze men must have had some crippling effect. Did they jump off their mountings every night and sabotage black lives? Made them think education and whitey were the devil? Damn, that's some deep hate. Such fluff from you that it's hard to do anything but look at you with sadness. Keep digging that racism hole so you feel comfortable and safe. Idiot!

Ya, because people like you do not care enough, or at all more than likely, to try and mend this racial divide.
You want your gosh darn statue & that's the end of it!

Well, if we're extending olive branches, I think there are plenty of other things that need tearing down. Washington Monument, Jefferson Memorial, Mt. Vernon, Monticello, the White House, etc....

You don't even live in Orleans parish, for one.so not sure why you care about their tax money
Two, they did vote. The officials elected by Orleans parish; by these same taxpayers; spoke for the people that voted for them

So this was all about healing the racial divide...
Lmao
Lmao

Do you honestly think the tax roles reflect the vote? Hahahaha...delusional thinking. This city is run by the poor and for the poor. Not going to say if it's good or bad but you can decide.

How the frick do you know where I'm from? The only reason I don't live there right now is because I'm active duty in the Navy. Oh, and when you're in the military you can continue to pay taxes to your home state, so STFU.

So, I guess anything Trump does is ok with you? He was elected by taxpayers.

Scruffy : example A, above
Example B : walking up to these monument protest and hearing the N word directed at black people like it is nothing.
You know, you don't have to sympathize for black on black crime. But that doesn't mean you can't acknowledge the oppression that still goes on.

Oh, and "die white people" painted on the monuments is perfectly cool, though.

95% of the claimed "oppression" in 2017 is either feigned, completely fabricated or self induced.

I don't know where you're from. I simply said you don't live in Orleans parish. Cause your profile clearly states that.

There will always be 2 sides to something. I'm an adult. Guess what? If I don't like it I adapt, deal with it and move on. Novel concept

What was the black man being denied?
Neither one of those "examples" show the "black man" being denied anything at all.

Currently in the United States, the one major opposition that black individuals have that hampers their ability to succeed is other black individuals.
Crime, family structure, education.
And yes, Scruffy does sympathize with the plights of the black community. A large majority of the children he sees and treats are black. Too often their lives are harmed and their futures are ruined, not by some oppression by whites or society, but by their own damned communities. It is an absolutely heart wrenching and depressing aspect of my job.
