In a room with 23 people, there's a 50/50 chance of at least two people having the same birthday.

In a room with 75 people, there's a 99.9% chance.

The word, mankind, is made up of the two words, "mank" and "ind." No one knows the meaning of either of these words. This probably explains why mankind is so mysterious to us even in modern times.

Most people conceived on certain dates, like new year's eve for example?

No, not really. I believe this is strictly a math thing.

1/365+2/365+3/365...

No, those probabilities assume equal distribution of birthdays.

It comes down to the fact that each person's birthday that you check has more people to potentially match against. Like if you enter a room with one other person, there's only a 1/365 chance that you will share a birthday. But if you enter a room with 20 people, there's a 20/365 chance of matching (or 94.5% chance of it being a 'miss'). So not only does each added person have a better chance of a match, but it also gets less likely that all the people before also missed their chances consecutively.

It's like throwing darts while blindfolded, but after each throw you get to move closer. How many times in a row could you miss?

Queen Elizabeth joined the war effort and served as a mechanic. Keeping up the craft as a hobby and consulting with the motor pool mechanics up into her 90s.

May be common knowledge, but learned it yesterday and thought it was a great story.

The color orange was named after the fruit. Before that, orange was called red. That's why people with orange hair are called red heads.

Speaking of rivers, the Amazon River (2nd longest river in the world) has no bridges spanning across it.

In 1984, Meat Loaf legally changed his first name from Marvin to Michael because he was haunted by a Levi Strauss & Co. commercial that said, 'Poor fat Marvin can't wear Levi's'.

The pineapple got its name in 1624 from Captain John Smith because the shape and spines were reminiscent of a pine cone.

The term pine cone didn't come into general use until the 1700s or later, and before that were called pine apples.
