This is the correct answer......... Just commute 30 minutes a day and raise your kids in a safer place.

You'll get the most bang for your buck in kenner, unless you go to Destrehan or LaPlace ir Lulling.

There is a neighborhood, going up Loyola towards the Lake from the interstate, it's on the left just before Divine Mercy Church. Don't know what the neighborhood is called but pretty much all the streets have "Bayou" in their name.

Friends bought there a couple of years ago. Very nice place to live, lots of kids. Nice houses. I think they still have a few lots in there if you wanted to build.

If you can get into Chateau Estates school district, it's an A rated school that goes through to 8th grade. The academies are all good as well.

I once remember going to the movies at Esplanade. As soon the lights went out all you see /hear is rustling from teenage girls unzipping their pants then the the distinct aroma of lady gardens hits you in the face.

This is true, but if you want to stay in JP there are a lot of nice neighborhoods in River Ridge & Harahan (just have to get the hosues before the flippers) and North Metairie.

Why? Move to Destrehan/St Rose or Luling/Boutte Area and commute the 20 minutes. Schools, crime, etc are worth it.
