Do you like heroin? If so, Slidell is your place.

Oh this is another TD thread where we act like there aren’t any good areas at all in Slidell and mandeville is some absolute oasis

dont listen to these nobs, they have no idea. I can tell you all you need to know. There is an old town, very small, has an ice cream parlor, beer joint, some bars and some food places.

Good neighborhoods:
Brugier
Lakewood is decent
Turtle creek
french branch
Any neighboorhood off of oak harbor blvd
eden isles is hit and miss really
quail ridge, as beefense stated
the east side of westchester dr for westchester estates
many more to list

No real crime at all.

Any other questions?

Quail ridge is nice too. I grew up there and my mom still lives back there.

Yeah. Plus, you're Zoned for NHS rather than SHS.

But I think I remember that we know each other, and you went to Pope.

haven't lived there in years, however my folks still do and are in oak harbor. all of the eden isles/oak harbor neighborhoods seem to be really nice, although eden isles is definitely getting older, and not near what it was 20 years ago it seems. I'm sure its still decent though. I've lived in both. although i don't live there now, i do like going to visit, despite all of the dirty dell talk. I'm sure its there, like it is in every town, just nowhere I ever go i don't guess. definitely some merit with mandeville as well. we moved to slidell (eden isles) to be on the water and the lake. pretty cool docking your boat in your back yard.

Obviously off topic, but how'd you end up in Tennessee? (Assuming based on your avatar)

Turtle Creek used to be a nice subdivision. No idea if that is still the case.

Slidell gets a bad rap on the OT for whatever reason. It's really not bad at all. I've lived in both Madisonville and Slidell commuting to New Orleans. The commute from either is about the same. Would you rather be on a bridge for 27 miles or deal with highrise traffic? If you leave early enough in the morning, the highrise isn't bad. The nice areas in Slidell are Lakeshore Estates (sub par school district ), Oak Harbor (sub par school district ), Turtle Creek has a nice new addition, The Landings, and The Bluffs. All of those options are $500k+ for the most part.

Born and raised in Slidell and I'd love to be able to work in town. Driving to the South shore everyday fricking sucks.

It's like working in Youngstown, but WAY worse.

If you have to live on the northshore, try covington or mandeville. But avoid Slidell unless you want your kids to appear on LivePD at some point in their lives

It really is one of the dumber recurring themes on this board.

Could be some truth to this, if you don't know how to raise children properly...

Time to reconsider that opportunity. Slidell is trending downward.
