I was recently offered a position in Atlanta at a company's office near the Perimeter Center. I currently live in Louisiana but I'm looking for a change. If I were to take the position, what would be a good place to live? No kids or attachments but want to be in a nice area.

How old are you and what do you enjoy doing for fun, particularly on the evenings?

26, the same as anyone my age. Usually like to hang out at a laid back bar, beer lounge.

Buckhead used to be a trendy area. Haven't been there in five years so I don't know if that has changed.
How close to the MARTA station is your office? Opens up lots of options as traffic on 285 is a bitch between Peachtree Dunwoody (Perimeter area) and 75.

Buck head is very high end and nice. Decatur is pretty nice as well

The commute from Buckhead there up Peachtree Dunwoody is nice, you can avoid the congested interstates and would be going against traffic anyway.

Same goes for Virginia Highlands which is more laid back, but it's further from Perimeter (but still very reasonable).

Just depends on what kind of commute you can tolerate... from Buckhead it'll take you 20 minutes on a good day and from the Highlands I'd say itd take you about 30-40 minutes on a good day.

Just read your age, maybe not 400

I'd go Decatur, highlands, midtown, perimeter, Inman park.

I hope you enjoy traffic, I will never complain about traffic in Louisiana again.

But once the traffic congestion clears, get ready to use the accelerator because Atlantians do like to drive fast.
