Were truancy rolls checked for 'local' high schools?
I remember living in NOLA, we couldn't tell when the kids were on vacation days or playing hooky because so many were out on the streets many, many days. I would have hoped that that would have changed

In the press conference last night Morse said they had detained (not arrested) 5 people and they would be working through the night “unraveling” what went down. He said we should hear more today about who they are and what happened. He also confirmed what we all knew when he said maybe rap music/diss track led to a beef.
I agree that the carousel operator’s account, if accurate, puts a real question mark on it’s just a gang thing.
A TikTok showed up on my FYP last night that had a picture of other guys. I have no way to confirm if it’s from the mall shooting or not but I haven’t seen it here. I also don’t know how to insert a picture from my phone but the user is @savannahheberthoppe and the picture was posted in the comments by Bayou_Chauvinist.

I know that at times the mall can be filled with ghetto trash but I was there until about 30 minutes before the shooting and saw very few teens of any kind. Now I didn't walk through the food court but I walked around it and saw mostly young families and older people. It's possible that a bunch of teens showed up to the food court after I left but it wasn't like there was any obvious gatherings or trouble brewing.
Also, the shooting happened at the end of the food court where the escalator leads directly to the exit doors to the parking lot. So it would have been easy for the shooter(s) to make a getaway.

Your theory begs the question, "what does Baton Rouge have to gain by claiming this was a shootout between two gangs?". If two "groups" - in this case gangs because we all know that's exactly what this was - got into a shootout in the middle of the food court of Louisiana's largest and busiest mall at lunch hour and shot innocent bystanders, killing a teenager, it's not a good look at all for Baton Rouge. So what would they have to gain by lying to the public telling us that's what it was?
Besides, that lady whose story you're referencing also mentioned that she didn't look at faces or people, she just looked at the gun she saw. I'm sure that was to ensure it wasn't pointed in her direction. It's totally believable that she wasn't looking around taking the entire scene in to remember it for later and that there really was another group shooting back.

If all other professionals can be held accountable for shoddy work, why can’t the law and judicial systems? If an architect makes a mistake that causes damage, that architect can be sued. Why do judges have immunity for blatant error? Makes no sense.
