Houston and Harris County are shipping jailed prisoners from city and county incarceration to Louisiana all the time I wonder how many convicts Louisiana is keeping out of their jails so they can keep renting cells
When I moved to Texas I did not want to live in Harris county. I asked around and was told to stay away from Harris. Ended up in Montgomery County and it and it has been great.

I’m so mad and have to take breaks reading this thread. People talk sh*t about Baton Rouge, but it wasn’t always like it is now. I’m sad to see what it has become. Why are we silent. Why don’t we have the courage to rise up and demand change and hit the streets and stop traffic like the crazy liberals do for their causes.

Real people have lives, jobs, families... also, there's not an NGO funding fake outrage and astroturfing dissent. When YOU go to jail, Kamala ain't bailing you out or arranging your childcare needs or saving your job.
Any "rising up" will be inundated and framed by khaki pants and tiki torches. It is racist to resist.
Good people on both sides ring a bell?
"J6 Insurrection" ring a bell?

Well some of us have been involved in public discourse and working on changing these things or keeping the Traditional Values or fixing the problems
And I mean apart from sharing opinions on the internet
It's all a very easy to fix I mean it's not like we have to do studies we just need to foster laws and encourage families staying together
Won't be overnight ,won't fix all of it but it will be sustainable permanent and fix most of it

I think that's good... I'm also in a mood tonight and think it's futile. The chaos, the lawlessness, the racial strife, all of it is by design with a purpose.

Well then it's very easy to figure out a exact and precise counter action to everything you're talking about
getting involved in your local school board and getting better results there and trying to enact Community standards is a great place to start and trust me a lot of really stupid people are doing it now so if someone were to get involved to stay focused and go about it smart you could get traction

Maybe if BRPD were halfway competent in dealing with the constant fricking burglaries plaguing this city right now, some of these scholars could have been swept off the street before the shooting happened. Or at minimum, maybe they wouldn’t have the stolen guns to shoot at each other. Competent enforcement is prevention.
I am not a defender of BRPD. I think they're terrible in so many areas, but as I've said already in this thread, the issue is not enforcement. As shitty as BRPD can be, they've almost certainly put all of these people in jail many times over.
It's the same cycle over and over again. BRPD arrests them for a felony offense. The criminals are then released on a joke of a bond (or even on their own recognizance) and go right back to committing more crimes a day or two later. Rinse and repeat thousands of times.
When they're out the day after they're arrested over and over and over again, and the charges are ultimately dropped or pled down by an ADA who doesn't give a single shite beyond getting the file off his or her desk, it's very tough to argue that arresting them one more time would've changed anything.

I see a lot of talk around social media about not going back to the mall. It’s about time we dig in and say we aren’t going to take this anymore. The thugs aren’t pushing us out of the mall. We are pushing them out. I’ll be at the mall this weekend and I hope others do so as well.
This
“Fear is the enemy; fear is the thief… We must not fear. We must face fear because God will always be there on the other side.” —Jesse, Father of David
Also, we shouldn’t be like the Mexicans and just run from our homeland. Louisiana isn’t THAT bad yet. We aren’t CA. We should stay and try to fix it. It’s worth fixing.
To many of us, it’s not just a place, it’s a people and a culture. Not Baton Rouge, but Acadiana, for example. We really are unique. For the most part Louisianians are a good people. No need to flee the state….at least not yet.
That’s my opinion at the moment. But I’ll be honest, due to career circumstances, I couldn’t leave now even if I wanted to ;)

Up is down and black is white.
Violent physical threats to federal agents all day long. No big deal.
An email to a commissioner/judge giving him a piece of your mind after an innocent girl is killed partially due to his negligence. Careful now….

I was watching some of the local news livestreams today and was disappointed to see people like sid gautreaux and other members of law enforcement standing around laughing and joking after some of their press conferences outside the mall earlier. I mean I get that they deal with this type of stuff all the time and have seen it all.. but it just kind of rubbed me the wrong way this time. Especially with what sounds like an innocent girl being shot dead right behind them only a few hours earlier

That’s why i said wish
Just saying it’s a shame the rumored argument didn’t get physical prior to the shooting. If it had, maybe things wouldn’t have gone so tragically.
I’m not blaming anyone.
I know the officer would have done something if he COULD have. It’s just frustrating knowing he police was an escalator ride away from the shooter(s). An officer is always there right at the main entrance with his car. (Sometimes 2 officers.). He just didn’t know what was about to happen.
At this point I’m not really convinced this gang “beef” — as they call it— really took place. Has anyone seen footage of eyewitnesses talking about an argument or confrontation? It just doesn’t make sense to me that 3 episcopal highschool kids, 2 white middle aged men, and a normal looking black woman would have been shot in a gang argument?
One of the white middle aged men may be Hispanic. I couldn’t tell. But none of the people shot looked like they would associate with Marcus Washington….
