Based on the police news conference I watched earlier, all of the victims were bystanders. The thugs literally hit nobody they were aiming at.

I know a guy that got his 7th dwi. Prior 6 were in the 90s and this was 2018 or so. Court ordered to have a breathalyzer he had to blow into 6 times a day. Paid off the people at the company and all his tests were scheduled between 9am and 5pm.

Dude still drank a good bit but beat the system lol

Do you honestly think BRPD does a good job at crime prevention? If so, how? All I see them doing is responding to events. Or riding around with their light bars on. But I never see them actually doing anything proactive.

To add to this:

You can bet the powers that be will be taking this incident seriously with all of the media attention and outrage. They’ll want to make arrests quickly (and already are, apparently). They’ll try to make a show out of their immediate response to show the public they care.

Don’t fall for it.

Making swift arrests, after some shitheads shoot a bunch of innocent people in broad daylight at a crowded mall with cameras and witnesses everywhere, is the absolute minimum that should be expected from competent law enforcement.

They don’t deserve praise for responding immediately. The question everyone should be asking, loudly, is “what are you going to do to keep this kind of shite from happening in the first place?”

Proper and true enforcement of the law does a great deal of crime prevention.

I’m not just talking about BRPD. I’m also talking about EBRSO, Sid, Hillar Moore, the judges; all of them.

But since you went there - BRPD are shite at enforcing the law too. In fact, based on my personal experience, they’re about one notch above completely fricking useless when you actually need them. But that doesn’t mean they deserve a pat on the back for managing to arrest some thugs who shot up the mall in broad daylight.

Maybe if BRPD were halfway competent in dealing with the constant fricking burglaries plaguing this city right now, some of these scholars could have been swept off the street before the shooting happened. Or at minimum, maybe they wouldn’t have the stolen guns to shoot at each other. Competent enforcement is prevention.

On top of that, the entire premise (that crime prevention isn’t part of their job) is dumb to begin with.

Unless you’re being sarcastic, in which case.. you got me.

Did you see tonight’s press conference? They’re all up there sucking each others dicks for “responding quickly”. They had some FBi agent up there lauding them. I interpret that as pure theater. Congrats for doing your job, I guess. Sid and TJ are making sure to remind everyone how safe the food court is and how good the meals are. It obviously isn’t that safe, TJ. Do better.

Baton Rouge is lost. The majority of law abiding, responsible citizens have fled to Central, LP, and AP. Now that St. George is independent, there aren’t enough civilized people in EBR to overcome the ghetto vote. The savages have won. We’ve come full
circle back to the frontier days where the settlers are truly on their own. No one will protect you but you. The cavalry may show up And save your scalp, but it would be advisable to prepare to go it alone when necessary. Cause you never know when those Indians are gonna attack.

They did arrest the shooter two months ago; fake judge released him. They arrested him and put him in jail, police didn’t release him did they?

Houston and Harris County are shipping jailed prisoners from city and county incarceration to Louisiana all the time I wonder how many convicts Louisiana is keeping out of their jails so they can keep renting cells

Also, how much credit are we supposed to give them for arresting a kid whose gun went off inside a high school? Just curious how much tough investigative work went into that.

And what about the other shooters? What about the (likely unsolved) burglaries that almost certainly led to their possession of the guns in the first place?

But you’re probably right. They’re doing a bang-up job.

Yeah, well, the sad part is when you give BRPD the exact GPS coordinates of burglars who just hit 30+ vehicles in one night, and they ask “do you expect us to just go over there and knock on the door or something?” like you’re fricking crazy for even suggesting that they do actual police work.

But hey, they arrested the kid whose gun went off inside Istrouma High School. I suppose they could have just let him go as well. So there’s that.
