Always try and get out of bed no later than 6:00 in the morning. Try to go outside at first light in the morning and get some Sun in my eyes and take a deep breath maybe say a little prayer.

Meditate every morning. Try and learn more about God. Read before bed instead of looking at my phone. Walk outside with my dog everyday

I pop a pod of coffee in and read the Bible every morning before I do anything else.

I have dropped about 20 pounds in the past couple of months by going on a low carb diet (I still cheat a bit on weekends). It has dropped my A1c to 5.9 which makes my endocrinologist happy.
I try to thank The Good Lord each day for the many blessings I have in my life and ask for acceptance of those things I cannot control (every one and every thing other than me).
I've been doing the "make the bed" thing for a long time. It seemed like some days it was the only thing I accomplished in the day.

I'd like to see a thread on any experiences taking courses from Hillsdale. Been wanting to do that for several years now sinply for personal enrichment, but never followed thru.

While all the other roadies are at home on the couch or staring at a Zwift screen I am on the asphalt pounding out Russian Step HIIT in the brisk and often wet spring air. Putting in the miles while my competitor's bikes hang lonely in the garage. The younguns will still drop me like a hot potato if they do it early enough but if they leave me in the mix until the last 200m...
On a more serious note, my wife and I have been spending some time with an older lady down the street who lost her husband 6 weeks ago. We take her food and do stuff around the house for her and just give her someone to talk to. Her kids all live out of town and she just can't bring herself to move yet. I can't say it is all for her though as she lived a remarkable life. She went to Princeton when they just started admitting women then studied at Oxford and worked around the world along with her husband and retired about 10 years ago to be close to his children.
