Best Toad ever, especially with a stick.

It's a dying art.
Especially to know all phases of it, double clutching, heel and toe, downshifting/upshifting when entering and exiting a corner. Until I had very experienced driver teach, demonstrate and to get behind the wheel and actually do it, I began to realize that a lot people's experience with manual transmissions is just flat road city driving.

I still can't heel/toe really well. Now, with auto-blip...
Ricky Rudd was the best I ever saw.

Both my 911s have been stick.
Stick is certainly more fun than a slushbox automatic but my god to people overhype manuals. It’s fun for spirited driving, but outside of that…
I’ve never thought “man I wish this car had a third pedal” when driving my kids to school or running to the grocery.
Some people act like driving a manual is next to godliness and it’s just not lol.

It does take some practice and with a brake pedal that is a bit higher than I would like, a little more focus with placement is always needed in my case.
Rudd's skill level was one of the best.

That’s the problem. It might be the perfect car or dream vehicle for a certain segment of the population, but that segment has shrunk considerably over the years. The pool of potential buyers is too small these days to make them worthwhile to manufacture.
Not for 911s
The take rate for manuals has been skyhigh for awhile.
Despite anything porsche says, I imagine this move is just to drive more people to the much higher margin 911T

i've been driving a manual for 26 years and i have no idea what any of this means lol
but mine is a 93 Jeep YJ so it may not be applicable.

Ironically trail driving a Jeep Wrangler is harder with a manual.
Maybe true on some super technical trail, but I disagree. I have had 3 Wranglers (YJ, TJ, JK) with manuals, never had an issue. Pop it in 4Lo, put it in 2nd or 3rd and crawl.

It's more impressive that you've kept a 93 Jeep running that long...

that is definitely your opinion. i'd rather be driving a stick in almost any scenario except for maybe just straight up bumper to bumper traffic. it's just more fun, and that applies to driving out in the country on a Sunday or driving to the grocery store.

911 prices are out of control. Don’t even look at the msrp there, options are like 50% of the car price

my 1st was an 86 Mustang manual shift - I have missed it, and wish my cars since had one.

I’ve only purchased used Porsche’s
I enjoy stopping by the baton rouge dealership- great group of guys.
Everyone is either buying new or used - I mean that they are always busy

And, tbh, if you're younger and buying a 911, it likely will be your DD, so even less incentive to own a manual.
Bingo. When I got my 992, I opted for the PDK because there was no chance in hell I was going to deal with a manual in a DD, especially when the traffic in the northeast is godawful.
