She’s kind of right. The root cause of school shootings is shitty parenting. Parents who allow their children unrestricted access to pornography are shitty parents so there is some connection there. The root cause of 100’s of teens ransacking Chicago is shitty parenting too.

Blaming porn is as lazy as blaming guns.

Agree but this is a single quote from huffpo so possibly selective/fake news.

I need to see her entire answer.

My parents aren’t shitty in the slightest, but I never had internet restrictions on my computer. Gore, porn, etc

Blaming porn for shootings seems pretty random

I do think deterioration of family values and downplaying the importance of a nuclear family has a pretty strong influence though.

Porn is a leading cause of the moral decay of this country but that is a bit of a stretch

Or it's the lack of porn, more porn for the people

dont completely disagree. Wouldnt single out porn though. shite on the internet in general and loss of cohesive traditional family stuff absolutely has a role.

This. I think it’s more a detachment from real experiences and interactions....combined with all the meds that are being peddled....probably because of a detachment from real experiences and interactions.

I'd bet every single one of them drank milk at some point...must be the milk.

Yeah, it just has a black sheet in the plastic holder to block the front cover.

Which brings up something else. Yes, porn is much easier to access today, but it has always been around. When I was a teenager, there was a wooded area by my neighborhood. There was a collection of porn mags (playboy, hustler, etc) that was set it.. Someone put a plastic over them then covered it with leaves. People would add to it throughout the years..

Even before the internet teens had access to porn. If anything, porn might be a good thing for a school shooter. If he would watch some porn and jerk off before going shoot up a school, it might let out some of that aggression he had built up.

Yea, I couldn’t give a frick less about that side of the conservative platform. We lose a lot of young people with the holier than thou, anti pot, bible thumping rhetoric.

Conservatives should shut the frick up on all that and coast off the economic gain we’re seeing under Trump. One sure way to frick it up and get another Socialist in office is to keep pumping the religious shite.

And when actual porn was scarce, there was always the handy dandy Sears catalog.

Or your very own yearbook...

Much like those on the left who will use school shootings to attempt to remove the rights of law abiding citizens, here is a morality warrior on the right trying to do the exact same thing.

Exactly what are her credentials to make such a claim?

Personally, I have and still do view porn, probably more than the recommended dose! LoL I've yet to shoot up a school.... Just sayin

Honestly, I think the meds are the biggest problem. With that said, I have nothing to back that up with. There is nothing that shows the type of meds any mass shooter was on, if any.. But even if someone's mom was on some type of anti-depressant or taking certain types of drugs while she was pregnant, I am sure it has to have an impact on the development of the child.

Unfortunately, I have a cousin who is an addict (the good thing is, the third time she went to rehab, she seemed to want to get clean. She has had a steady job for over a year and continues to go to rehab meetings.. It's sort of like AA) and she was probably at her worst point when she got pregnant. It's not like an addict just stops using when they find out their pregnant, but her child is not 4 or 5 years old.

Her ex-husband has full custody of him, but the kid has behavioral issues.

I would say that today, there are more mothers who use drugs (whether prescribed or not) while they were pregnant, than ever before. And there are more kids, than ever before, being prescribed anti-depressant, anxiety, etc meds and if they don't take them like they should or they take other types of drugs with it, it could really cause some mental issues.

Now if a kid is all fricked up mentally and they see porn and it makes them do something stupid, if it wasn't porn, it would be something else that would make them go nuts so porn is just another thing out there that could trigger someone.

To be honest, I think if there was no porn then there would be more shootings. Guys would have too much spare time

she got this part right. But I will never understand the (over)emphasis on pornography when violent media seems so much more prevalent.
