Oh man. So many. OCD turn off all the lights and fans my family refuses to turn off.
Save small amounts of leftovers I KNOW will not get eaten.
Call and fight over a bill, when I could work 6 minutes and pay it multiple times over.
I just stood in line to return some chicken fajitas at Costco that were bad (that was probably worth it as it was fast)
I actually thumb through Costco and Sam’s mailers for sales and click on Harbor Freight emails (and shop at Harbor Freight)
I just saw some whipper snapper in a brand new $100k Rivian and thought, sucker, from my 17 yo wagon.
I’ll actually download a gas station app and sign up for loyalty programs while on road trips, to save .10 gal.
I could go on. All absurd.

I travel a lot for work so I’m constantly staying in hotels ranging from cheap motels to 5 star resorts and everything in between. No matter the stay, I’ll snag wash cloths, hand towels, bath towels, bar soaps, body wash, shampoos, conditioners, etc. My bathroom is stocked with a plethora of said assorted items.
So you are a thief. Got it.

I piss outside…no flushing required
Me too but I don't do it in the same spot too often...it will start to stink to high heaven in a short while.

and we used paper grocery bags for school book covers
The demise of paper grocery bags in this country is tragic. I haven't eaten a properly salted french fry in years 'cause their ain't no paper bag to shake them in....

Solo Cups / Plastic forks definitely get reused after washed. I still love Hamburger Helper, Vienna sausage, and hot fries.
When my son was about 11 or so he came home from summer camp madder than hell. Seems the camp had fed them Hamburger Helper Stroganoff at least a couple of times during the week and it was beneath him, wasn't suitable for his sophisticated palate. When I told him we had it at home at least a couple of times a month he said that was the point....we made waaaaaayyyyyyy too much money to be eating poor people food. When I pointed out to him that, at 11 and just starting out in life, he himself was among the poor - that myself and his mother, having worked hard and been lucky, had acquired some wealth but he had neither a place to piss nor a window to throw it out of. He wasn't happy about this but had sense enough not to continue giving me reasons to poinit out the fallacies in his logic.
Fast forward about 9 years and I am talking to him on the phone. He is in Denver, sophomore year of college. I ask him what he is doing. He says he is cooking dinner for himself and his 3 roommates. I ask him what he is cooking....and it was Hamburger Helper Stroganoff. He said it was cheap and, being counted among the poor and barely having a place to piss or a window to throw it out of it was a pretty good, if not overly healthy, way to make dinner for 4. I agreed wholeheartedly and did not mention his summer camp tirade but I can say I have rarely been prouder of him than I was in that moment....

Use paper plates and plastic utensils for all meals
Wife + 2 teenage boys
That's way more expensive

Also, try to conserve food. Such as by forcing myself to eat fruit that is probably poisonously rotten because I don't want to waste it.
I will definitely cook and eat the gray ground meat.

My favorite drinking cups are big arse Mason jars. They hold a lot and are less likely to tip over than regular drinking glasses. I also like that they have Oz measurements right on the side

I like the Dawn Platinum Foam dish soap. I learned that foaming soaps are just regular liquid soap mixed 1 to 1 with water and put into a container with the pump nozzle, so now I make my own foaming soaps.

we keep, clean and reuse jars, plastic containers and ziploc bags. Honestly there is no better dry or wet storage container than a glass jar
This. We put rice in big bloody mary plastic jugs, rinse out ziplocs, and I get really excited when we order Chinese

My wife doesn’t throw away stale hot dog buns. If making spaghetti, she coats the buns with butter, sprinkles them with Parmesan cheese, and then puts them in the oven. Much better than garlic bread.

I reuse single use plastic spoons. And keep plastic drink cups from places like Rudy’s and football stadiums until they crack and fall apart.

I don’t order food when I go eat with the wife and kids. Plenty food leftover that they don’t finish.
