Nola.com

Lakefront Management Authority has voted to move forward with leasing and hopefully redeveloping pontchatrain beach. If done well (and there’s the rub) this could be great for the city. I definitely think they need to charge admission as a small pay wall to keep away the bums and maintain the property.

Mitch needs to bring home the bacon because the whole project depends on federal funding.

Glad to see the lake will be dyed blue.

If it looks that shitty in the renderings it will look like Mogadishu when it's done

Is that crystal blue water supposed to be Lake Pontchartrain?

It’ll look like Africa no matter what the specs call for.

I think it’s a great idea because if I’m going to get shot a bleed out I’d prefer to do it on a scenic beach setting

It’ll be like the Wuhan Wet Market but you’ll get monkey pox instead of Covid

If this project ever goes forward it will functionally be apart of UNO’s campus. That is a university largely shite on by the LSU system, and I would love to see it and its students realize an amenity like this.

Also - are there any women posters on here that want to form a DBE business with me specializing in sand procurement?

As a woman, TigerGrl10 would enjoy the opportunity to “procure sand” with you.

Good to see Louisiana try to make something nice for locals to do. Unfortunately the people that populate the state will ruin it with a quickness

Hmm. I hadn’t thought of that but whose to stop you from self identifying your DBE status.
