It's entirely political.

Then I guess MAGA hats are okay too. Doesn't have a politician's name on it.

What I don't understand is why can't you wear a Trump shirt, or a Biden shirt? What's the big deal? Can you imagine not being allowed to wear your team name to a college football game? It's just a stupid rule to me.

it is to prevent campaigning at the polls. makes sense. nobody should be bombarded when trying to vote

Probably because there's laws about not being allowed to campaign within a certain distance from polling sites and wearing shirts with a particular candidate's name on it could be considered campaigning on that candidate's behalf

I mean, I guess I understand that. But, how many people in this country leave their house to go vote and don't yet know who they are voting for? And someone campaigning would sway their decision one way or another? I guess it's more than I would think.

It’s standard protocol for poll workers to ask someone wearing a shirt with the name of a political candidate on the ballot to turn it inside-out when inside the polling place, Thompson said. But in this case, the policy wouldn’t have applied because Black Lives Matter is not political.

Should have said "because Black Lives Matter is not a political candidate."

In the view of many, it could be viewed as "intimidation". Having multiple people wearing campaign paraphernalia at a polling place. I think it is a good law. But 100% percent agree that BLM is a political cause and persons should not wear it to vote.

That means Blue Lives Matter isn't political either. Wear them to the polls.

A follow-up question should have been, "What were those instructions?"

I'm glad the OT agrees that BLM is entirely political and therefore, all BLM threads should be moved to the PT from now on

Thanks OT for clearing that up for everyone!
