The study fails to discuss how it's participants were chosen, it's an incredibly small sample size (2000 people to characterize 330 million is absurd). And the study was conducted and paid for by a gay rights organization. I see huge amounts of bias, and no other study has seen numbers anywhere near what they found. I'm calling bullshite. Also they had a salty message at the end of the study trying to paint Donald Trump as dangerous to LGBT people

If people truly are "born that way" how did the number jump so dramatically all of a sudden? Either
A. This poll is pure policial bullshite intended to make homosexuals appear more mainstream than they really are
B. Being gay is a choice and more people are choosing to be homosexual
C. Some socical condition shifted roughly 35 years ago that caused the number of people born with homosexual tendencies to explode.
So which is it?

We have normalized LGBTQ persons so much in popular culture our own perceptions no longer comport with reality.

Well there is a fourth option.
It is possible that homosexuality is becoming less stigmatized in the Western world and therefor more people are not afraid to claim that as their sexuality.
But honestly, to believe that a jump of 16%-18% is caused by acceptance is rediculous.

It's a shame their parents did such a poor job raising them. It's even worse that the blame will get pushed on the product, not the source.

You're saying that we've always been 20% gay? Okay, following that logic then the human race must've been 20% gay since we broke off on our own branch evolutionary tree- because none of the other primates are 20% gay. Are any mammals 20% gay? I have my doubts.
Take a species and remove 20% of their reproductive population and the species will not survive. There's been a plethora of times when humans and ancient humans were a hare's breath from dying out... if your 20% were true then we wouldn't be here today.
The only logical conclusion is that either the 20% number is bullshite, or that if true for today's population, it is the product of social pressures actually making people gay. I'll leave you to decide which of those two is more likely.
