Tell these young fools. Trump’s economy is booming and these folks are too stupid to see it.

I remember getting absolutely blasted on here for saying a weekend away costs $1000 at an absolute minimum a few years ago

No reason to be away when you can watch ABC and stare at each other on the weekends. Maybe go for a walk.

too woke, the only justifiable expense for a family is Dailywire+ and maybe paramount when Landman is back

HCC, thats fancy. He just needs to into a shop, shake the foreman hand and he'll get all the job training he needs

he better think twice if he is going to live in one of those uppity neighborhoods like timbergrove or oak forest with them mega mansion 3/2 ranches

Yeah it’s insane. Had to go to an out of town swim meet in Tupelo. 2 nights at the holiday inn $392, meals for the weekend, $300 plus about another $70 in gas. That’s the kind of pop up expenses that kill your budget. Those several time a year extras that don’t seem to bad as one offs really add up.

Don’t travel if you can’t afford it. Families didn’t vacation prior to the 90s. Vacation was a wacky movie in the 80s because it was a foreign concept to all but America’s richest families.

Even being super cheap/conservative it’s hard to not spend 1k

$125/night (shithole) for 3 nights = $375

2 $50 tickets (shite seats) for a concert/game/show = $100

5 cheap meals for 2 = $200
One nicer dinner = $150

Fuel, Ubers, transport = $100

NIH I think you are missing the point of this thread. It shows that $100k which by most metrics is well into the middle class should offer a very comfortable life but the sad reality is that it doesn’t. Most are broke but surrounded by nice things. If I hadn’t come into money and just relying on my w2 I’d be in a bind. When even 5 years ago I would have been quite comfortable. Insurance is the biggest family expense being over $2k a month between home, auto and health. That’s just absurd imo

Maybe you should get a library card instead of blowing your money on tvs and antennae? Ever think of that? No wonder our society is crumbling. Entitlement everywhere.

And instead of focusing on how ridiculous that is and how we got there, you shoot directly to the lowest common denominator like a fricking retard

Clearly I'm not a fricking retard, because it seems like I'm more fiscally responsible than most people whining in this thread.

You want to go to an Astros game for cheaper? Move to Houston. You can find seats in the 300s for $30-$40. It's business. As long as people are willing to pay $XX for a product or service, the product or service will cost $XX. But you're CHOOSING to do that.

I'm not saying spending power of the USD isn't in shambles - it is. But these people making this much money should absolutely not be living paycheck to paycheck where they feel they're "one unexpected bill away from financial chaos"

People used to delay gratification for a better tomorrow. Now they want a better today and tomorrow. Usually doesn’t work like that. Never did. People today think the past consumption is the same as today. Not by a long shot.

And today’s demand drives up prices so it’s really partially their own fault inflation is like it is.

If LSU could still fill it’s stadium if they increased prices by $100/ticket they would. You do realize they try to squeeze as much money out of their fans don’t you?

LSU is not exactly filling Tiger Stadium these days. Upper decks sparse at kick

MLB attendance is doing better than 18/19 but still 7-9 million people a year from its peaks in the early 2000s if it was for tickets thru work, i'd never go and i watch a ton of astros and live 7 miles from there as far as the crow flies

Just sit at home and eat your beans and rice and be happy.

If you worked harder and stopped going to Starbucks you too could go to one Astros game a year.

Those places will generally offer payment plans with zero interest as well.

you know who doesn't offer payments plans?

Dr.'s offices (well at least all the ones I've been out here with my kids)

ENT tonsil removal + teeth work due to enlarged tonsils runs about 5K for a kid...and that's with good insurance

Rising healthcare cost, rising cost of everything...without commensurate wage increases is awful right now even for lower-middle income families.

Basically if you can't get subsidized by the govt right now as a family, most folks are swimming in debt (as plays out in the numbers for lower/middle income families)
