guy intervewed on CNN International seems to think the situation is "benign" and probably not an ISIS lone wolf, due to the fact nothing extreme or shocking has occurred yet.

The Russians tried that once and ended up killing a lot of the hostages. Turns out there's a reason only trained medical doctors are allowed to administer anesthesia.

Question...
If you were being held hostage by an ISIS member, or by someone who wasn't really concerned with living through their crime, would you want a sniper to take the shot even though there was a chance they might hit you instead?
After seeing that many times these terrorists don't care about dying, I'd be all for snipers unleashing hell. No fricking way do I want the opportunity to pass, only for me to be tortured before the terrorists eventually blow themselves up.
ISIS has me, I want the top 10 snipers available to go to town on them fools.

Knowing that they have no issue killing those they hold hostage I would like to think I would look for a way to do something. I'd rather die trying to take them out than die saying please don't kill me.

Sitting here, I have to say I'd try to figure out my chances of living. And if it started looking dim, I'd probably commit suicide by AK...attempting to frick up as many terrorists as possible.
