So if they found campsites and clothes, why the hell haven't they brought in a tracking dog? It wouldn't take half a day to find the kid if they really wanted to.
Dogs? If they have a general area, drones with thermal are far more efficient.

Maybe he's planning on coming in when it gets cold, starting a YouTube channel, going on talk shows, and monetizing his experience.

He's probably been eaten alive by the mosquitos by now

i mean it's not that big of an area to search in the woods for him. Seems like it would be rather easy to find him if you wanted to.
And it's even easier if he has a brain and stays near water, and if he isn't near water, then he's probably dead by now.

.i respect the shite out of a kid that can live a month out in the woods all by himself at 13.
Well for what it's worth, with the police searching for him, it sounds like he may have NOT been able to live off the grid.

Would be a good way to get rid of a kid if you wanted him gone. Report a runaway and a missing weapon. Throw the police some bones with a few articles of clothing …
Seems weird. A survivalist kid might want to camp and fish. He’d come home the minute he has a bad day fishing for a PB&J and a cold glass of milk.

More power to him if he does. Kid is taking the bull by the horns at a young age.

Smart kid and wish him luck. He's 13 and surely old enough to see the country is headed towards some kind of life changing upheaval. He's ahead of the game.

Sounds like he graduated from “attempting” to “successfully living off the grid”

live off the grid in this heat? Highs in the 80s lows in the 60s this week in Sauk County
Heat doesn’t bother you at that age much. I remember working on the farm driving an old service truck with no AC at 15 in 100 degree heat all day and it didn’t bother me much
