Abilene, Texas. Multiple hospitalized, one dead, after high speed chase ends with crash in Jones County. The driver 22-year-old Jacobe Jabar from Arlington, Texas was arrested. His passenger who was in the car with him at the time of the crash, 27-year-old Aaron Earl Rattler, from Garland, Texas was taken to a local hospital, but later died. Troopers attempted to stop Johnson for speeding on I-20 and that's when he fled. After a chase, troopers deployed spike strips to stop the vehicle. Johnson will be charged with evading arrest or detention in a vehicle. Other charges are expected as the investigation continues.

The other charge should be vehicular homicide.

Oh well. Tough shite, now kill the driver and it’s a perfect outcome.

I don’t understand how all those cops who pulled out the driver still couldn’t control him as he tried to run away.

That dude looks older than 22

Is that a silver Charger?

ETA: NM, silver Kia

quote:

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the chase began around mile marker 273 in Tye just before 7:00 a.m. A trooper attempted to pull over a silver Kia, but instead the suspect evaded.

The suspect continued to travel at a high rate of speed, reaching over 100mph, traveling on both sides of the interstate and switching directions to escape troopers.

The pursuit took a brief pause at the Huddle House in Tye, where both the trooper and suspect had a conversation in the parking lot. The suspect soon jumped back into his car and fled to Jones County.

The suspect crashed after attempting to turn back toward Abilene on Hwy 277. He had tried to cross onto the service road, colliding with two or three other vehicles.

Same thing happened in Shreveport not long ago. 2 teens stole a car and got in a high speed chase on I-49. The tried taking an off ramp too fast and went head first into a bridge support. Killed the passenger and seriously injured the driver.

Couldn’t have happened to a better set of thugs.

since he evaded police, I would assume there are other charges to be filed.

Were there open warrants for his arrest? Why would he evade? Was he simply afraid of the police?

Obviously they were needing to get somewhere in a hurry, it’s 200 miles from DFW to Abilene.

This doesn’t happen at a Waffle House.

They will charge him with murder if they can prove that the passenger was not involved or a willing participant in the decision to flee.

Nah. He caused himself to crash when he chose to run.
