Tragic. How many deaths due to dehydration?

Two from car accidents (I-71 was iced over), with one from cold exposure apparently.

The national media heard the phrase a decade ago, latched onto it, and has pumped it into every potential major winter storm since then.

But you do agree it’s used solely for dramatic effect

No.

It depends on who is using it.

Now if we could just get a low coming up from the ocean to meet it we’ll be dusting off the sleds.

If only there was a search bar where you could type in snow, weather, cold, winter, and find these answers.

Still way to early to determine there will be snow but it looks like lows in the teens in south LA are a real possibility

Exactly, named hurricanes automatically a hurricane deductible. Now they will do the same with winter storms

It sucked. And froze our water lines, not in the house, but out at the main near the road.

Heck, our entire water supply for Memphis has frozen twice in the last couple of years. Well, water mains froze and broke... got rewarded with several days of no pressure and then boil water advisories for a few days after that. Better than dumping a few hundred gallons of diesel into the water reservoir leading to unusable water for over a week like Germantown did a year ago.

I don't think the supply froze. Just that everyone had the water on, leaking faucets, that it drained the supply.
