They both should be killed, shot in back of domes.

Hunters are the worst. Need rifles with scopes to hunt animals, not man enough to hunt with bows.

"Sir you killed a rhino that only has 30 left of it's kind, Uh, i paid $10K, which will help the other 29 and keep the breed alive"

No shite, I was just about to say what are the odds they pick one with a camera in the tree pointed at them. Then again that might be pretty common for the area and these assholes are just idiots.

I wonder if they harvested the bears, used the meat to feed their families and the fur for warmth. Or did they sell the meat and fur to buy necessities for their families.

Andrew was ultimately sentenced to three months in jail, while Owen received 30 days of suspended time for the offense. Each was ordered to pay $1,800 in restitution, with the elder Renner owing an additional $9,000 fine

Andrew Renner was convicted of eight counts related to illegal killing and transporting of bears, The Anchorage Daily News reported, as well as falsifying the documents.

He also faces one count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor because his son was 17 when the incident took place.

Renner was sentenced to three months in prison and a $9,000 fine. Renner was also forced to forfeit a 22-foot ocean boat and trailer, a 2012 GMC Sierra pickup, two rifles, two handguns, two iPhones, and two sets of backcountry skis that were using the poaching.

Renner’s hunting license was revoked for 10 years.

Then they should have gone where it was legal.

Those stupid fricks were bragging about how they would never get caught. I love when people are caught doing shite that they are absolutely confident they will get away with.

Those two are POS shite but hunters aren’t the worst pansy. It’s a necessary sport that people like you just can’t seem to grasp.

This is coming from someone who hasn’t hunted in over 20 years also.

Either you're a troll, or a gigantic POS.

They were fricking hibernating. And how much meat/fur are you going to get out of a cub that has been hibernating?

ehhh.. I dunno. I could see up to a year in prison, but they lost a lot financially:

3 months for such a heinous act. Should have been 10 years to prevent it from happening again.
Some future nutcases will risk probation or 3 months to do it again.
Better deterrence would have been to lock them both in an octagon with daddy bear who has not eaten for months being in hibernation ………….And broadcast it live Free

If you make a living off of selling bear fur, wouldn’t the safest way to do it be killing them while they hibernate?

Probably, but it's not the most legal way to kill them

That’s fricked up. I love hunting but hate people like this. Hunting is a sport, killing animals like this when they are defenseless is not sport.

It’s also poor conservation. Never kill a mother with cubs, fawns, etc.

Unfortunately, I watched the video and those two POS assholes better be glad I wasn't the judge presiding over their case. I know some folks that would probably wish they would have seen them do it because those MF's would have never been seen again.

I'm not against hunting as long as hunters respect the animal and use it for all the resources offered by the kill but what these MF's did is just evil. Suspending and revoking the license and giving a fine isn't harsh enough. Both of them should be sitting in prison.

Ya'll remember that video of that chick who shot a black bear out of a tree dead. Then a dude fricked her on the bear corpse.

Time flies fast.
