Is this location ok? Too close to kings?
Sketchy in that area. Plenty of run down, shitty houses.

Question: how good is she at small unit tactics?

My FiL lives in Broadmoor between Youree and E Kings. I’ve never felt unsafe there.

Broadmoor is going to be more affordable, just a solid neighborhood with plenty of houses, can't go wrong. More interesting and closer to the school is South Highlands, but by and large is gonna be more expensive. In South Highlands you would want to stay on the east side of Fairfield, at least until you get South of Betty Virginia, then there is a solid number of blocks South of Ockley all the way down to Southfield School on the west side of Fairfield.
South Highlands and Broadmoor both good proximity and very safe - don't have to worry about violent crime, and you not much property crime either. Any violent crime in either of those neighborhoods is going to be domestic violence, and even still not much of it in there. No drug crime. Plenty of good neighbors that look out for each other.
If PA school is even remotely like med school and residency, there not being close to the school is going to get old really quickly.

Note: this thread started last May to ask about a kid moving there in July 2024. Someone just bumped it. The OP’s kid likely found a place months ago and is near the end of her first semester.

Recently drove through there on I20, I've never seen interstate lanes narrowed down that much for construction. Barely enough room for a regular sized car to pass. That's all I got.

Is she good looking? If so, send her to Benton.
If not, send her to Haughton

I love North Bossier and Benton.
Thats the best part of NW LA.
I lived near Cypress Lake for 13 years. Its kind of an oasis in the area.

Rent, don't buy ..
Best of luck to her and best to make good contacts, market is getting saturated with new grads despite the demand.

It use to be, my parents lived on cypress for about 20 years and it use to be nice quiet and rural. Now it is overgrown and a traffic nightmare, the town of Benton has not grown any, doesn't have any restaurants, you have to drive into north bossier to eat at one of the 6 Mexican restaurants or silver star (not complaining), they built the new school and it opened at max capacity, Benton is not the oasis it once was except for being safe.

Either South Shreveport Southern Trace south ellebree or No Bossier/Benton...no where in between..the state trooper call it Shreve-stigan....the past few mayors of Shreveport let that place rot into a shite hole...

I've got a brother in Stonewall and it's nice. I realize that's outside Shreveport, but realistically it's a 15 min drive. Seems like an area that doesn't tolerate too much of THEIR stuff.

nah, not a long drive but you're not getting to LSUMC(guessing that's where chica is going to school,) in 15 minutes

The crime in Shreveport is over done on this board. It's not nearly as bad as people on here make it and it's normally people that live in BR, New Orleans, and Opelousas doing it. As far as N LA crime goes, Monroe and West Monroe are actually worse than Shreveport.
Salmon had a pretty good suggestion...
She's not going to have any problems there and it will be convenient. I live in Bossier and like Bossier 10x better than Shreveport but she would absolutely despise the drive she's have to make every day with I-20 construction.

Most PA/ med school students rent houses in South Highlands or Broadmoor. It’s safe. Crime will leak out every now and then like any City in the South, but she will be fine.
It’s a beautiful neighborhood near the hospital and close to anything she would need.

Seems asinine they’re completely reconstructing I-20 through Bossier but not making it 6 lanes.

It's NOT about the DOG.
This is her deflecting so she does not have to answer to the fact that she has been sucking dicks.
