What's your nickname? Every coonass I've worked with on turnarounds has a nickname.

To contribute: I'd avoid the golden triangle like the plague unless you're ok with NW Beaumont. It was the only good part of the area. But then again that was 8 years ago.

First off, I applaud you for your shameless (scaffolding) approach to making money. Perhaps you are not aware that an electrician (that checks many boxes) can make 100K/yr outside of the plants. I worked in the plants for about 10 years. I made some decent money. But, I drove an hour+ to get it, and 2+ hours back. Missed some first steps of my children. Only to find out that it was not necessary. Not many can make it this way- but, if you’re an electrician, who’s willing to build scaffold- you can make it. You are clearly not afraid of work. Realize your value.

and I do scaffolding as a backup (trashy I know, but it's the only other craft I know)
PJ is going to whip ur arse, then build a flatbed full of scaffolding and give you a diving head butt off the top rope as an ode to his favorite wrassler

One of the rare circumstances where I think LA > TX.

I’d still rather be in the golden triangle area over LC. That’s how low I think of Louisiana and it’s government. Look into Nederland Port Neches and Winnie

Port Neches, Groves , Nederland, Orangefield, Lumberton, Sour Lake are all fine.

Pretty much anywhere in Hardin County is fine. Avoid at all costs Port Arthur and to a lesser degree Beaumont. Those two cities are straight trash...poor schools and highest crime % per capita.

I live in SWLA and drove to Beaumont for 3 years. It’s about a 45 min drive or so.

I would say Sulfur - close to all the LC plants plus all the new LNG plants and you can still make the drive to Beaumont/PA.
