I'd have no problem with a competent and professional female pilot with an appropriate level of experience. But a 20-year-old TikTok influencer that sounds like Paris Hilton in interviews? No thank you.
you do realize she wasn't actually flying the plane, right?
and the allegedly competent, professional 55YO man with years of experience was PIC. He's the one responsible for this whole event as he was flying the plane.

I agree.
What was Learjet_gurl responsible for? Besides TikTok selfies and texting her boyfriend in the lead up to the crash.

For those ripping the co-pilot, this from a professional pilot:

I’ve been flying professionally for 30 years, and that girl did a much better job than anyone has the right to expect from a 20 year old kid. She’s a credit to her instructors, and her training, and she would be more than welcome to sit in the RHS of any jet I was captain of. If it were only possible.
These are such empty words. He doesn’t know anything about her outside of a minute of her screaming on radio. This is just as dumb on the opposite end of the emotion spectrum.

I understand your view. But while I am a pilot, I never flew at the level. This guy has. I think I will defer to his view. If you fly for thirty years, you have had some pucker factor moments that give you insights into this I would not have.

A wing keeps a jet in the air because the wing creates a low pressure area above the wing that yields to a higher pressure area under the wing.
But the particular conditions that maintains this condition of higher pressure lifting up the wing are destroyed when some wings are passing through the atmosphere at too high a speed that approaches Mach 1. When that happens, the point in space lifting up on the wing moves out of place. When it moves far out of place to a point where the higher pressure uplift is no longer even on the wing - it has moved behind the wing and is pushing up into nothing.
The wing no longer has lift. The speed of Mach Tuck condition removed the uplift capability of the wing, and there's no way to slow back down to regain the proper uplift position.
While complicated, this seems like a very solvable problem. Reading this thread, it seems as though other plane manufacturers have designed planes with features that are much better at preventing it, but there has to be some way to slow down a plane that is experiencing mach tuck.

For all we know, she could’ve suggested an alternate route and the PIC ignored her.

I'm assuming that anything you use to try and slow it down like landing gear, flaps, etc would just rip off or the hydraulics would not be strong enough to extend them against the force of the air at those speeds. So you just go faster and faster until you lawn dart straight into the ground.

The pilot monitoring (the pilot not flying) is responsible for navigation around thunderstorms, so those saying she wasn’t flying aren’t making as great a point as they think.

Her job in an emergency is to run the checklist, communicate with the PIC, and advise ATC of status.
Considering that the evidence seems to show that they had lost part of the empennage and were in a 20 fpm dive at a 60 degree bank, I'd say she did pretty well.

I mean the only thing there is still “better than anyone has the right to expect from a 20 year old kid”
It hangs in the air a bit even in a tremendous compliment

They weren’t in an emergency until they flew into a thunderstorm, and once they flew into a thunderstorm there might as well have not been any pilots in the plane.

Nice. I’m sure you also probably yelled “OH YEAH GIRL POWER BABY” to her on the way out.
Nah man...that day she had the biggest dick on the plane.

Call me spoiled, but I have a bit higher expectations from the crew when riding in an aluminum death missile.

He's been claiming she was distracted by texting and making TikTok videos instead of paying attention to the radar.
Though he has no clue how much she was on her phone, and though multiple pilots have said texting in the cockpit is not uncommon at all, and though there is zero evidence she was texting during the emergency, he still can't let it go because he needs it to be her fault to confirm his biases.

They weren't in an emergency until they lost part of the elevator.
After that, you may be right. The plane likely had the aerodynamics of a set of car keys.
But you still work the checklist and communicate with ATC. She did that.
Recall that they were likely in the shite for a lot of this time. They could not see anything but their instruments showing catastrophic numbers.
That does raise a question. Does anyone know if she squawked 7700?

comms apparently. which she seemed to be doing well enough until #experiencedprofessional55YOPIC flew the plane into a situation that killed everyone on board. I'll give her a pass for her panicked tone as they were nosediving into the ground at high speed. I'd probably be a little stressed too seconds before my own death.
and I'm not opposed to a discussion about females in critical roles. I just find the uproar about this girl odd, given she wasn't actually flying the plane.

So not my battle, but it is not fair to say that there's a difference between:
1) A pilot texting his wife about dinner plans while flying with autopilot on in calm skies
vs.
2) A pilot texting a boyfriend specifically about violent turbulence while barreling headlong into a severe and quickly changing storm covering 1/3 of the state of Florida that they're actively trying to update their route and elevation to navigate
Sorta different "texting situations". One, I wouldn't blink an eye at...the second I'd say "how about we focus on our main job here".

but, again as has been stated repeatedly - SHE WAS NOT THE PILOT IN CONTROL OF THE frickING PLANE

then when do you plan to criticize the guy that was actually flying the plane and responsible for everyone on board?
For someone with such high expectations you seem unduly focused on one of the eight people NOT responsible for flying said death missile?
