I don’t know jack, shite, but based on her voice when describing the turbulence you could tell it was much rougher than they expected. I’m gonna guess it become so rough that’s what knocked the horizontal stabilizer off and turned it into a lawn dart. Just sad all around,

Yeah looking at the video overlay it seems like they did the exact opposite of what they should've done. They turned and went right into the middle of it.

it sounds like they were initially told the weather was moderate.

Ugh no. Did you see the radar? The weather has not been good all week.

They absolutely had get there itis here. They pushed through weather that should have been flown around.

They were flying around the bulk of the storm... It was one very small by comparison storm that popped up right before they ran into it.

Damn this looks like a real mess. Even worse the you could imagine. They somehow lost the handle on it for some inexplicable reason and flew directly into a cell.

It actually clears up some of the confusion. They were off western coast of Florida and requested direct to Freeport. ATC directed them safely around that.

They didn’t go into the middle of the storm. They went between one storm situated over Lake Okachobee and then a band of showers over Miami.

This is not flying around the bulk of a storm and this is not one small cell. Leerjets either delay or fly completely around storms like this most of the time.

You know why?

Because of exactly what happened

Hemingway pointed out that consequences of bad decisions tend to happen slowly, and then all at once.

Situation was under control until it wasn't.

You are aware of who was actually flying, right? Cause you don’t sound like it.

I assume the 55 year old captain was flying the plane.

I also assume the 20 year old copilot had responsibilities like monitoring radar and assisting the PIC in navigating around treacherous weather conditions.

Is your position that the co-pilot is a glorified passenger?

What in your opinion is being implied here?

They’re obviously implying there is some kind of cover up in play, I don’t follow it though because the post he is responding to never said she had 1300 hours in Lears, not sure where they got that from. Busy at work today so didn’t have time to dig for it, figured if there was anything to it, one of the OT autists would find it

Question for the OT ballers...what does a one way trip on a charted jet from Austin to the Bahamas cost? Like 50k? Is charter really that much better than first/business?
