Yea, other than the 425 being a redesign of the 421 they are not anything alike.
Please stop! You have no idea what you speak of. Have you ever flown or even sat in either of them. I have been to the factory and school on both of them. Shut up. Other than dimensions of the fuselage not the same.

There were some rather substantially sized private jets using Hammond back when the Saints held training camp at SLU. Not sure if the runway has been extended since 1986 - '87.
I have flown several different types of jets in and out of Hammond, from Citation to Gulfstream Vs it is certainly large enough.
-----------------------------------------------------------
I believe it. I picked up one of the Saints minority owners in 1986 from the Hammond Airport. He was in a pretty big jet, for just him and 3 or 4 friends. It wasn't like it was a 737 or something, but it was quite a bit larger than the small Lears of that era.
My point is that regardless of how long the runway was, or is, I think the majority of the traffic is single and dual prop aircraft.

Man when I worked for Epps aviation in Atlanta, my favorite corporate jet was the Falcon 50. I fueled them, never flew them
The Hawker my dad flew was pretty sweet, but the Challengers, GIIIs and IVs, Falcons, were unbelievably nice. Can't imagine how impressive they are now.

Wade Speed had an insurance agency in Hammond. Stiel, out of Franklin, took it over after his death.

That explains all the sirens I heard by my apartment.

I used to fly out of Epps all the time. The Gulfstream was maintained right up the hill by the Maintenance Group. The old man Epps was first guy in Georgia to own a airplane. Pat tried to rescue some P38 Lightnings stuck in the polar ice cap.

If you've got 30 years in the business, I'd imagine you're 50+ years old, yet you come off as a dick in this entire thread. Lighten up Francis.

FYI, both men on board were killed. RIP.

Radio traffic indicates an Acadiana connection to Wednesday's plane crash in Tangiapahoa Parish.
There were two men on board, and both were killed. Their identities have not yet been released.
Witnesses say the twin-engine plane crashed shortly after takeoff at the Hammond Airport, climbing about 200 feet, before nosediving in a field.
Moments before the crash, the pilot could be heard making a "may-day" call, telling air traffic controllers he had to get back to land.
The air traffic controller refers to the pilot by a tail number. That number is registered to a Lafayette company.
The FAA is unable to confirm.

quote:This same concept is true of boat motors. Hence counter-rotating engines in twin engine configurations.
More thrust is created on the downward stroke of the propeller and propellers turn clockwise.
A saavy owner of a single engined boat knows which way his vessel turns "better" whilst moving forward (ahead). (answers is the nautical term). This is also is true to a lesser degree when backing (going in reverse) mitigated because most boats/ships are engineered and constructed to primarily be moving ahead. The lines of the hull affect how it backs.
