A lot of airline pilots are based in California but live in Nevada, Utah, Washington, etc. I wonder how this will go for them.
If their net worth is under $30 million it won't apply to them.

You understand this is a proposal by one state legislator and it's not even on the 2021 agenda? No you probably dont.

I'm actually not shocked that this kind of taxation is being proposed.
For the people who think wealth disparities are a big problem the logical solution would be taxation on the total value of personal assets. The proposals I've seen before typically have a graduated taxation rate with higher percentages owed by people worth 100 million, 1 billion, etc in total assets.
If you set aside the question of whether it would be nice if people worth many millions or billions of dollars paid more taxes as a percentage of their worth (something we all functionally already do with property taxes)... The other question that has to be answered is if the law is possible to enforce efficiently.
I think the answer to that is probably no. These taxes are intended to target the mega wealthy but those individuals have more ability to adjust their behaviors to avoid taxation than other people. People like this can leave the state or the country. They can move assets into cryptocurrencies or other assets that are difficult to track, they can move assets into companies or institutions they control but don't legally own, and they can pull the strings of government to block, modify, or reverse legislation they dislike.

When has one commie’s proposals ever led to something terrible for its citizens?

You mean the bums, drug addicts, low IQ third world illegals etc. can't keep the Marxist utopia afloat?

The US gov taxes it’s citizens abroad anywhere in the world. We are one of two countries who do that. Even communist states do not do that. Combine that with OFAC ridiculousness and Americans are pariahs abroad. Completely unethical. We fought a war to not send taxes over the Atlantic.

More proof that progressive liberalism is a mental illness. What is delightful about this form of sickness is it’s like narcissism. When California becomes the nations dump and poverty central they will of course blame everyone and everything else but themselves.
Happens every time.
Look what happens to our major cities throughout the United States when a Democrat mayor takes over for a period of time. The city turns to shite and they blame the previous non Democrat administration. Facts, numbers, statistics don’t matter at all.
It tends to happen at the Governor level also. Surprisingly not so much at the Executive level. At least this is what the statistics show.
The liberal progressive mind set is incapable of rational thought or logical deductive reasoning.
Here is an example of how the mind of a progressive such as AOC works.
An alien in a space ship flies above the planet and sees a shed on fire. He sees a single fireman with a hose trying to put the fire out.
He flies a little further and sees a house on fire and two fire trucks and five firemen trying to put the fire out.
Lastly, further on he sees a tall building on fire and eight fire trucks and twelve firemen trying to put the fire out.
The alien then deduces that firemen cause fires.
So this is what the rest of us normal functioning and rational people have to deal with in our lives when it comes to living with these mentally disturbed people.

States can vote to succeed from the union. But can states vote to kick out other states?

Retired and got out of California as soon as I could.
To get around it only stay in wakofornia for 59 days.
They are probably going after celebrities, software entrepreneurs, athletes, and businesses owners who legally reside outside the state while they rent or own a home in wakofornia.

fricking liar
All of their "outrageous" shite is mainstreamed within a few years but they openly lie about doing it until they think no one can stop them.

But ONLY for the income you earn while in the state, right? They can't possibly tax you on income earned somewhere else when you weren't a resident in the state. Can they?
To be fair... doesn’t America do this to citizens living in other countries?
SCOTUS will shut down the 10 year thing for sure.

It's also a click bait opinion piece. People don't care if it's true or not as long as it fits their agenda to trash Cali.

A lifeguard in LA County gets a $180,000 a year pension upon retirement.
Arguably the most beautiful state is run by the most inept pinkos on the planet. Most of the people there are insane and drunk on their liberal ideologies.
