My daughter and SIL moved there last year. It's a nice place.

I wonder why that is? I grew up in Beaumont and everyone knew what Lumberton was about.

In Houston commute terms, Winnie to Beaumont is a walk in the park but it still would get old. There is actually some nice homes coming in on 90 from China into Beaumont.

We live in Hamshire/Fannett area. It’s nice if you like rural living.

Lumber ton or Bridge City for neighborhood life

4-5 years for work then would probably move back to BR or Houston for work. Wife and kid and they would come with me. The career trajectory and compensation package would be too much to pass up.

I lived in Beaumont/Orange almost 4 years. There are lots of nice places. I lived up near the mall for a couple of years. There are some bad spots, but there is alot of old money all around the city..

Silsbee ain’t too bad, but it’s pretty po dunk and not much to do unless you like going to church, hanging out with old people, jacking up trucks or building hot rods. If so, you’ll love it.

After I got flooded in Orange, I lived at a casino north of Lake Charles a few weeks before moving to Beaumont. The commute from Beaumont to Lake Charles was a bitch. Its a crap shoot with traffic. Plus I think you have to pay state taxes living in Louisiana and working in Texas.

I grew up with a kid who lived on Thomas Road. His family bought the house next door and joined the 2 houses together. I used to go over and play basketball with him on his full court and we'd take a break and the family chef would make us a snack.

Not sure how old you are but we may know each other. Did that kid go to private school? Kelly? All Saints or Saint Anne’s?

Port Neches - Groves has a great school district and strong sense of community. You get a lot of house for your money, too. We had a freaking mansion there.
