Smoothie King has been known to hire high school students. I would start there.

Just giver her a sign and stand her at a street corner asking for money. Seems to be a booming industry.

Restaurants (hostess), grocery stores, clothing stores, movie theaters, and fast food chains universally hire 16 year olds.

My niece just got a job working at Chick-fil-A. That's a fantastic organization to be a part of if she can find one that is hiring.

Have her find a waitress job. The money is not bad for a kid. She will also learn that John Q. Public is a prick and how to handle herself in bad situations. It will be a great teacher for life skills.

It will also affirm to her that she wants a higher education to avoid dealing with people like this.

Fresh market.

Worked at one when I was 16, plus you'll get her 20% discount.

Whataburger. Amazing place for a kid to work, good food, fast paced.

Check out the benefits package.

Possibly a smaller local grocery (callandro?)
Lifeguard although most pools are not open in the fall

Like to add mail stores. Not necessarily FedEx or ups, but the smaller locally owned post it/mail box places. Possibly one near blue bayou

My first job at 16 was Albertsons. That was back when they had us take the groceries out to customer's vehicles. I don't know if they still do that though; I haven't set foot in an Albertsons in over 20 years. You're on your feet all day but you get a lot of exercise.

My niece (no pics) started Chick Fil a when was 17 and she really liked working there.

You can't do that at 16. You have to be able to get a liquor license and that's not until your 18.

Have her try Alexanders by Blue Bayou. They definitely hire at 16. I would bet that most grocery stores like Calandros or Hi Nabor would too.

Suprised no one has said Chic-fil-a.

The one I go to looks like an Aryan youth camp.
