ears ago a guy tried to write a bogus check at Subway when I was 15 and a cop came in and he bolted out the door.

This cop was from the old school and cared about lives and chased his arse down with backup apprehending the criminal. We all watched it go down.

He would be dead today. Who needs to run when you can shoot first and get paid on leave?

Honestly I think the "better judged by 12 than carried by 6" mentality has taken over in this era of LE - especially when you have a friendly DA to cover for you.

This should end the thread.

IMO it would be stupid for a LE officer to think being judged by 12 would be a good idea in this era. Too many cop haters out there would would vote against them no matter what.

That, Sir, is an unusually cogent point for the OT. I am impressed and would like to remark that you are 100% correct. It doesn't help that these days getting shot by the police is a golden lottery ticket no matter how guilty you may be or deserving of being shot. These frickers know that if they survive they are rich and if they die their family is ghetto fabulous. Municipalities writing checks to multi-felons that pull guns on police and then get justifiably shot is a real problem.

.is running deserving of a capital offense?

After committing a shooting, yes IMHO. You should be taken down for the good of the public

If a shooting was known to have happened, why was the driver released?

Are we not all deserving of due process?

Just curious....not sarcastic at all.

Because he did not run from the cops so he was able to be processed

We are. But when you run from the police when you are a suspected felon involved in a shooting, you are endangering the public to a degree where deadly force can be taken to protect them

there's a law in Pittsburgh that allows officers to shoot however they want when you run after committing a felony.

law simply recites current federal law.

I would be willing to change my stance if something new came out. In my experience with situations like this though, the facts dont like to come out unless they benefit certain parties.

By them saying “East” Pittsburgh I’m guessing he was black. The north is super racist and loves to herd minorities into ghettos and away from themselves.

Except most people dont realize how easy it is for a DA to throw a grand jury case, especially because theyre held in secret. Most LEO shootings never make it to court.

if a shooting was KNOWN to have occurred...there is no scenario where the driver of the car would just be set free

I'm so confused.
