I read where the cop was sworn in only 3 hours before this? Are these reports true?

If, as your average Joe citizen, I'm not allowed to shoot somebody in the back fleeing then I'm sure as hell not going to be okay with the police being able to do it.

I'm surprised this hasn't been all over the news. I guess liberals are too concerned with trying to call Trump racist for securing the borders.

That’s what I don’t get about watching livePD. All these black people complain about cops killing them then I see every week some hoodrat with threatening body language screaming obscenities at police.

I’m like you’re the one escalating this situation moron.

I agree that street-beat cops have to put up with a lot of garbage and bullshite. If it was me I know I would be really annoyed with some of the personalities you have to deal with but I'm also self-aware enough to know that if it ever bothered me to the point that I felt like I couldn't do my job effectively or it would cause me to make a mistake then I would turn in my badge immediately.

A fearful cop is a dangerous cop. Departments need the kind of officers that can remain cool under the most immense pressure. I'm not sure how well they screen for this in the hiring process and through the academy.

Unfortunately, when it comes to police hiring, anybody can be a cop but not everybody can be a cop.

Nah, they will say they feared for their life, the DA will then toss the case at grand jury level and either present no evidence or only very friendly evidence to the LEO. Then once a no bill comes back the DA seals the transcripts so no one knows what happened.

Meanwhile the cops that pulled the trigger get a 6 month paid vacation, and most likely a police union supported promotion for not breaking the law.

A civil trial then ensues and the city (but not the officers) pays a lot of taxpayer money. 6 months after the civil trial is over the whole ordeal is forgotten.

Statistically speaking this is the outcome for the vast majority of police shootings like this.

CLASSIC media hype. He was sworn in at THAT DEPARTMENT two hours prior. He has already been an officer for seven years at a department one jurisdiction over. He just changed agencies.

What are the chances the media reports that part?

That's what the mayor of Pittsburgh statement said. He was hired mid to late May, and was sworn in a few hours prior to the shooting.

The victim was believed to have shot someone less than 15 minutes earlier and that's why the car was pulled over.
